To ask what expensive thing you have which you think was well worth the cost?

I got my bugaboo out of the garage today. It's nearly ten years old and I'm giving it to my sister for her baby. I can't believe what good nick it's in. Everything fabric wise can be washed, I've ordered one new wheel and tilt buttons because they were a bit dodgy but everything else is perfect. I've also ordered a new mattress obviously. I think it's fab that you can go on the bugaboo site and order parts for something nearly a decade old.

What do you have that was expensive but so so worth it.

blondes I am thrilled for you Flowers

TyrionLannistersShadow · 10/09/2016 18:52

My steampod and my Dyson v6 cordless hoover.

RonSwansonsBestFriend · 10/09/2016 18:53

Blondes - congrats!!!

Bugaboo - original Frog - was much loved, used and sold after 2 kids in an immaculate condition.

Rolex - antique one and a lady oyster datejust.

Mercedes c class - 3 yrs and not one thing wrong with it (not tempting fate as swapped for another make and not as reliable).

Mulberry black Bayswater.

Louis Vuitton purse, no one used but lasted 10 yrs of daily use and as new.

CallarMorvern · 10/09/2016 18:54

North Face Arctic parka. The most expensive (by a long way) item of clothing I've ever bought, but I feel the cold badly and I am warm and dry wearing this. It's 4yrs old and still looks like new.

RonSwansonsBestFriend · 10/09/2016 18:56

Oh god, I forgot the dog!!!! She was more than the handbag and purse, but so worth it on a good day Grin

bibbitybobbityyhat · 10/09/2016 18:57

Oh Blondes!!! (((((bump))))

I love that post.

WhisperingLoudly · 10/09/2016 18:59

Congrats Blondes Smile

A dyson cordless which cost about £450 and caused me a double take at the till Shock

We have 100 stairs in our house and every time I don't have to get the upright out it feels like a little bonus Grin

EmmanuelleMumsnet · 10/09/2016 18:59

A Mark Jacobs handbag I bought with my first (and only!) bonus in an old job eight years ago. Have used it SO much and I love it. This was pre-DCs though and I'm not sure I would spend that much now, even if I had it to spare.

MangoMoon · 10/09/2016 19:00

Another vote for a robot hoover - nearly vomited & shed actual tears over the price but OMG it was worth every penny!

Will definitely save up & replace if/when it breaks.

It's awesome.

WhateverWillBe · 10/09/2016 19:00

Nowhere near as expensive as some things on this thread, but our nutribullet.

I was {hmm] about spending over £100 on a gadget and thought it would be a little used fad (and only bought it because the kids got sucked into a commercial and begged and begged for one).

We use it EVERY DAY. The kids have banana miilkshake every morning. Often they'll have carrot juice or some random concoction as an afternoon drink. I make soups in it, sauces. It's a bloody wonderful bit of kit.

SecretNutellaFix · 10/09/2016 19:00

What amazing news Blondes. Congratulations. I'm so happy for you.x

Crunchymum · 10/09/2016 19:01

I'd say my Bugaboo as well.

Got a limited addition was £900 and it'd been usedoing daily for almost 4 years.

Have had the chassis break twice but it's been replaced both times easily [despite being out of warranty the second time].

I'll easily get a few hundred re-sell for it as well.

Walkingthedog46 · 10/09/2016 19:01

My husband's mobility scooter. We bought it when his mobility became reduced when he was terminally ill. The scooter gave him so much independence and he was able to go easily to so many more places than before. Sadly, my husband has passed away now but I am loath to part with it as it served him so well.

spicyfajitas · 10/09/2016 19:02

My car. It's now 16 years old and still going strong. I tell it how much I love it regularly

Purplehonesty · 10/09/2016 19:02

I love my smeg range cooker. I've used it so much and 3 years on its still fab. I actually wanted an aga but so glad we didn't go that way in the end.

MangoMoon · 10/09/2016 19:02

And Flowers for Blondes.
Congrats!

bibbitybobbityyhat · 10/09/2016 19:03

Can I say my house?

I moved to a scruffy, unfashionable and unknown area of London 20 years ago. We came here because we had good friends who lived here and we could see the potential (equidistant between two beautiful parks for eg). Now it has been gentrified and is a destination post code. On paper it has been well worth it.

I can't think of anything else I've paid an above average amount of money for. Perhaps my AEG diswasher?

If I have the choice I'll pay a premium to fly at a civilised time of day rather than the very early mornings beloved of budget airlines.

Nepotism · 10/09/2016 19:04

£120 Aigle wellies. I was getting through a £40 pair of Joules ones every six months and these are so comfortable it's been worth it.

Housewife2010 · 10/09/2016 19:04

My oak Mulberry Bathwater, my Mason & Pearson brush and my Cutler & Gross sunglasses (they are the only pair I've owned in over 20 years and I still love them. Also my Boodles diamond earrings, my wedding & engagement rings ...and my children!

Housewife2010 · 10/09/2016 19:04

Not forgetting my house!

RonSwansonsBestFriend · 10/09/2016 19:04

Walking - sorry to hear that Flowers

olivesnutsandcheese · 10/09/2016 19:05

Ghds, mine are from c.2003 and still going strong with a good repair job from now DH - reason why I decided to go out with him Grin .

Also aluminium garden furniture and my uppababy vista. DS is now 4 and about to start school but the uppababy was the best bit of having a DC

Housewife2010 · 10/09/2016 19:05

Bathwater? Hate bloody autocorrect!

bibbitybobbityyhat · 10/09/2016 19:05

LOL at Mulberry Bathwater!

ZaraW · 10/09/2016 19:06

Vitamix we use it every day. Used to have a Nutribullet which are good but the Vitamix is so much more powerful. Also can make nut butters, ice cream etc.

Tom Raffield lighting expensive but are like works of art

Tsavorite and diamond engagement ring.
