To ask what expensive thing you have which you think was well worth the cost?

I got my bugaboo out of the garage today. It's nearly ten years old and I'm giving it to my sister for her baby. I can't believe what good nick it's in. Everything fabric wise can be washed, I've ordered one new wheel and tilt buttons because they were a bit dodgy but everything else is perfect. I've also ordered a new mattress obviously. I think it's fab that you can go on the bugaboo site and order parts for something nearly a decade old.

What do you have that was expensive but so so worth it.

Private primary education
Tupperware microwave dishes
Faye and Lou muslins
Anya Hindmarch nappy and wipe pouch

Glitterspy · 10/09/2016 18:10

I would disagree about the bugaboo, ours is busted already (DS 2 still a baby)

OhTheRoses · 10/09/2016 18:10

I was going to say my stainless steel, copper bottomed saucepans that cost about £125 in 1991, but they are still totally perfect.

Two things. A picture of JFK in the oval office by a legendary photographer called Jacque Lowe. All his negatives were destroyed in the WTC on 9/11 so there are only 100 of the picture in the world. Plus a clock from the 1800's which used to hang outside one of America's first banks.

Spudlet · 10/09/2016 18:14

Salomon walking boots. They've taken me miles and they've miles more to go.

Mypurplecaravan · 10/09/2016 18:14

My hypnos super king bed
My daughter - to the 27k bump poster above congratulations! When it works it is worth every penny
Having my lounge professionally decorated the clean lines make my heart sing

I've bought a miele dishwasher but jury is still out if it will work out 5 times better than my old beko

Lakeland heated airer....£100 instead of £10 cheapie one. Seriously who mAnages without one!
Joesph joseph washing up bowl with plug £30 instead of £1 one. I used it daily and makes washing up bearable.
Watch gift from dh who got a tag aged 18 and used it every day since. Watch cost possibily 4 figures but has no batteries (movement winds it up) and has been used every single day since, looks amazing and makes me feel vvvv special just looking at it. The fact dh choose it thinking of me and knew my taste...priceless. Id have been happy with £10 one as used to making £1 do the work of £100.

My dd...but she is worth more than words can say! Im soooo lucky to have her and never throught id be that lucky. (Newborn ttc for a very long time)

My robot hoover, wow our house is so clean now it doesn't rely on one of us getting the hoover out to achieve it!

My two siamese kittens make me very happy and my old Bengal girl cat has dried tears with her fur many times over the years too .

Bisgetti · 10/09/2016 18:20

My children! They cost me a fortunate but I'm hoping all I've invested in them financially and otherwise will help them develop into wonderful human beings!

Other than that my ghds which cost over 100 pounds around 15 years ago but still look and work as new. Nothing else has ever lasted so long.

ChequeredPasta · 10/09/2016 18:20

Robot Vacuum Cleaner.
Worth. Every. Penny.

Cherryskypie · 10/09/2016 18:20

My mattress. It cost ££££ but it is amazingly comfortable and has been for 6 years and counting.

The tv. DH wanted to get a big stupid HD tv and I didn't but we had the money so we got one. It's brilliant. An even bigger plus is that films look so good on it that he doesn't feel the need to drag me to the cinema anymore.

Florin · 10/09/2016 18:20

Our son's private education. He struggled in a big nursery class at school he would eventually be in a class of 32 if he stayed on the state system he wouldn't have managed. At his private school he is in a class of under 10 with a teacher and teaching assistant! In just a few days he is thriving and has had such an amazing experience with such incredible activities. Plus their communication to parents is brilliant, within the first 2 hours of his first day we had 2 email updates including pictures. He is so happy there worth every penny so far.
Other thing I couldn't live without is my global knives, were even take them on holiday (UK) as couldn't live without them!)

RebelandaStunner · 10/09/2016 18:21

My siemens fridge cost £2000 in 2000. They are about £1000 now. Still going strong and looks really good. The matching dishwasher bought in 1998 is still holding up as well.

mateysmum · 10/09/2016 18:24

Beautiful jewellery I bought when we lived abroad in a country with a vast choice of 18c gold. I love wearing it every day. Whatever else I'm wearing it makes me feel good.

Dailymailisacrapnewspaper · 10/09/2016 18:24

ary they're actually DS's kickers. They are fantastic but I keep thinking I need a pair…

I read this as knickers! Twice. I was thinking- wow must be a close relationship to share expensive underwear.

confusedandemployed · 10/09/2016 18:29

Steampod straighteners
Ugg wedge boots. Never thought I'd go over to the dark side but it turns out Ugg do amazing non slipper boots.
Steam generator iron...now I love doing the ironing.

BodsAuntieFlo · 10/09/2016 18:32
