To ask what expensive thing you have which you think was well worth the cost?

I got my bugaboo out of the garage today. It's nearly ten years old and I'm giving it to my sister for her baby. I can't believe what good nick it's in. Everything fabric wise can be washed, I've ordered one new wheel and tilt buttons because they were a bit dodgy but everything else is perfect. I've also ordered a new mattress obviously. I think it's fab that you can go on the bugaboo site and order parts for something nearly a decade old.

What do you have that was expensive but so so worth it.

£1000 on a bell tent with built in portable stove + glamping furniture. Then £400 for a roofbox to transport it it. Heaven to sleep in.

foodiefil · 10/09/2016 23:47

Robot vacuum people - where are yours from? I'm a fan of anything that makes my life easier!

PickAChew · 10/09/2016 23:48

"HateSummer, moglick & any others who have a Lumea:
Does it really, really work? As in permanently removed the hair?"

Yes - I haven't completely cleared my calves, yet, but no more dark regrowth around my ankles 12 hours after shaving. Lovely!

justilou · 10/09/2016 23:49

My bloody dog who has drunk festy water twice in a week and ended up in the doggy ICU and having surgery.

FetchezLaVache · 10/09/2016 23:57

dementedma - me neither :(

On the plus side, I am feeling virtuously -puritanical economical!

seagulllady · 11/09/2016 00:14

Maidofstars - a Vitra not a vintage, sadly. Still love it though.

SherlockPotter · 11/09/2016 00:18

My iPhone 6 Plus. If I didn't buy it last year, I would be getting the iPhone 7 this month.

LeaveMyWingsBehindMe · 11/09/2016 00:18

Hmm. I have a nutribullet and I love it but I am starting to wonder if I should be getting me a Thermomix. Blush

maninawomansworld01 · 11/09/2016 00:19

2 stand out ones for me... both totally frivolous and non essential but I don't care.

My watch , circa £50k
My Purdey shotguns, circa £120k

Love them, will die before I get rid of them.

Ditsy4 · 11/09/2016 00:21

My kids.
Still forking out and youngest is 25 !

jay55 · 11/09/2016 00:23

Bose noise cancelling headphones. I live near annoying church bells and they totally filter them out.

MaQueen · 11/09/2016 00:29

Thought of another couple...

My wedding dress. It was an Ian Stuart. Bespoke corset and full ballgown skirts...I have never looked, or felt, more beautiful.

Our honeymoon in Mexico. It cost £££££££s. Our hotel was like something out of a Bond movie, just impossibly glamorous. And, best of all, DH got me pregnant with DD1...Smile

ChameleonCircuit · 11/09/2016 00:41

I forgot about my wedding dress! Completely made to measure as I was (and am) too fat and odd-shaped to buy straightforwardly, plus I look awful in white/cream. Apart from car and house, that's the most expensive thing I own, but I look at wedding photos 18 years on and still love it.

SeenYourArse · 11/09/2016 00:49

My icandy Peach pram and my car a 2013 BMW 5 series sport touring bought and paid for,not too fancy but were 30 with a baby and a 3 bed semi we own, we're proud to be working hard and doing ok at life! Smile

Feckthis · 11/09/2016 00:50

My Louis Vuitton bowling ball handbag,,,first bonus I got about 20 years ago, I went and bought this bag....still use it now, love it

Ginxed · 11/09/2016 00:54

Oh blondes congratulations, I've also seen your threads over the years, such lovely news.

Mine is a bit cheaper than yours, apprix £15k for my gorgeous twins, worth every single penny - but don't ask me at 6.30am when they are wide awake and arguing over minecraft. Grin

Forgetmenotblue · 11/09/2016 00:55

Top of the range hearing aids. Life changing.

Bloody nice mattress.

Kenwood mixer.

torthecatlady · 11/09/2016 01:58

We don't have a lot of money and most of our stuff is second (or third) hand, so we have to save up for a while to buy nice things!

Our house, wedding and second hand car are our biggest purchases, so far.

Although I am saving up for a Louis Vuitton weekend hold-all, bag and purse!

My pink GHDs (7 years old!)

Vet bills for the cats because I love them dearly.

IPhone 6s to replace my awful failing 4s.

iPad mini - love it!

Dyson Cordless V6 Animal (Amazing)

Our new Laura Ashley bed and mattress (which is arriving on Tuesday) and bought on interest free finance.

Thecazelets · 11/09/2016 07:56

Detached house with OSP. It is worth it to me every day after years of London terraces with parking issues and thin walls. Also built in bookshelves and storage - life is so much easier when you have places to put stuff.

NerrSnerr · 11/09/2016 08:00

My crockery. It's Emma Bridgewater stars and mostly seconds but it is so much more expensive then I have ever had before.

Laquila · 11/09/2016 08:22

Babyjogger Versa GT - a real workhorse
Didriksons winter coat - the most I've ever spent on a non-leather/non-wool coat but it keeps me sooo warm and dry all winter

Um. I think pretty much everything else in our house has been bought on they cheap!!

Summerwood1 · 11/09/2016 08:29

My dog. He cost £600 but I'd of paid thousands for all the joy he has bought.

UsedToBeAPaxmanFan · 11/09/2016 08:30

My InstantPot - much more expensive than a standard pressure cooker, but worth every penny.

BikeRunSki · 11/09/2016 08:34

Cashmere jumper I got with Boden vouchers for my 40th. Still looks good 6 years on. DH was made redundant a week later,it was very poignant.

LoucheLady · 11/09/2016 08:42

We have a thermomix. Massive waste of money, I hate it.
