Ah Jet yes you gotta love a shanty I posted the video of the fishermans friends getting the children singing drunken sailor it makes me smile as they sit up and down.
My favourite shanty is Bulley in the Alley as it's open to interpretation Gran has a wealth of songs which are unrepeatable on here.

Hi all, what a day I've had, first dp asked if I was looking forward to my day off on Monday to which I gave him a blank look (his work is closed on Monday for September weekend ) cue frantic call to work to make sure my name was on holiday board it was whew so happy days long weekend for us, then as summer has not been too friendly for tomato growing thought I would make green tomato chutney good idea😀 only thing was I didn't have a bowl big enough for the hoard of tomatoes and onions, dp then asked if I had enough jars eh oops no, no jars cue hasty trip for massive plastic bowl and half a dozen jars, all well. Tomatoes and onions having a lovely soak together with salt overnight. Just went to set rest of ingredients out ready for morning. Light brown sugar- no I have dark, sultanas - no I have currants, prunes, apricots and raisins. So I have another shopping trip to look forward to. Im sure this must be the beginning of the (whispers) menopause 😡 Moan over😀 Think I will just have coffee and scon now
