AIBU to be upset that he changed the baby's name?

We had chosen a name. She had a name! Now that she's here, he is refusing to call her the name we had picked, Sophia and is saying she looks like an Audrey or an Arden. He appears to be leaning towards Arden. He's refusing to call her Sophia and I'm at the end of my tether. She's two week old and she doesn't have a name. I wanted Sophia Alice or Sophia Skye. He keeps babbling on about how popular it is and how it doesn't feel like her name and that he knows too many little Sophias and Sophies. It's completely thrown me off track as we had planned to get her letters painted for her name and my parents are asking the name and everytime I say Sophia, he says we haven't really chosen and it's just getting to me! He wants Audrey Delilah or Arden Katherine. AIBU to say that we chose Sophia so she's Sophia now?

Just made him say it in his accent. I've laughed tears at him! He has agreed that Arden will not be our baby's name. She is a precious thing though.

Knew it would sound funny! I'd be plugging for Arya if Sophia is a no go, but there will be thousands of Aryas soon too.

My friend is called Audrey and detests it.

I'm a Sophie and it does seem very popular as either Sophie or Sophia, I still like it though :)

Audrey is pretty ghastly, as is Marigold!!
Arianna Alice has a nice ring to it.

Arianna is lovely but Arianna Alice is a bit hard to say.

I hear Audrey and I think of Gail's mother in Coronation Street.

Ariya sounds nice, Aria makes me think of the Opera solos..

You do need to agree on a name you are both happy with, or both willing to compromise to.
It does not mean that he should get his own way either.

Personally it would annoy me to be so set on a name, for them to agree and then to change their mind so late on. I did;t need to see the baby before giving them a name. Our name chose didn't waiver after DD was born.

Also - I don't know any babies, or young children, named Sophia - so whilst it may be popular in some areas. It isn't here. I work in an infant school and none in the 270 children so far.

Gin I was going to say Arianna Grace. It flows so well. Unless your surname starts with an A cos then she'd be AGA.

Anja, or Anya, is pretty and so is Arya... Lots of A names and you definitely need an unusual name to go with your other DCs names - don't forget to do an initials check... My BIL was nearly MAD apparently😳😂

Two years ago I taught an Isabel, Isabelle and Isabella, last year I had an Isabella......names do go in and out of fashion. This year I have a Tom, Tommy, Thomas and Timmy.......

Arianna is a lovely name. There is an Arianna in DS's reception class.

I also like Arianna Alice or Arianna Grace, don't really like Arianna Marigold though. It jars for me.

How about Avery Grace? I also like Arietty or Arwen. I do like Arriana/Ariana but with Ariana Grande I imagine that will be very popular soon.

I love Aria (as previously suggested) but was thinking with Pretty Little Liars that will be gaining popularity (along with Ezra).
