BIL visits. BIL gets toothbrush from bathroom and wanders around living room brushing teeth. BIL then goes over to kitchen sink to spit/rinse mouth. It's open plan so we get to see him spitting in our kitchen sink.

AIBU to think you just wouldn't do this in someone else's home?

I clean the dogs bowl in the kitchen sink, pour tuna juice down the kitchen sink, pour off milk down the kitchen sink...... I so wouldn't be bothered by someone spitting (in a controlled manner) toothpaste down the kitchen sink as long as they rinsed!

However I shall definitely never do this at anyone else's house now I know there are people who find it gross!

Why the need to walk around, brushing takes 2 minutes, just stay in the bathroom and use the sink in there. I'd find it bleurgh too.

I would prefer not to see people brushing their teeth. My OH walks around the downstairs (where his bathroom is) brushing his teeth and I can smell the horrible toothpaste and hear this crssh crsssh noise which irritates me, so I would prefer it to be done in the bathroom. Spitting out int he kitchen sink....not too bothered so long as it is rinsed away
