Being and Better my pols - I wrote DF and meant darling fiance and totally forgot that it meant darling father! blush.

And I forgot that DF meant Darling Fiancé. Too many acronyms with multiple meanings!

I have moved on now. And I don't see him anymore because he doesn't come to the scout group anymore.

I think toad is deliberately taking a break and may well hop back on to the threads at some point in the future. In the meantime, I don't think we should pursue her or put her under any pressure.

She may have a reason for not being here. We'll leave her be. I've messaged her so she will either see it or she won't.

(Although, my heart is saying to be worried about her...)

I am not completely surprised at her departure so I am inclined to think it was a deliberate decision rather than that she is ill/incapacitated. (Of course, I could be wrong but unless she eventually does decide to come back, we will never know.)

Have just read through posts from yesterday and think Being is on the right track with the charismatic bit. To my eyes ex was gorgeous on the outside. I thought I was cool going out with the best looking boy around.
Dunno what to think about toad really but she'll be back if she wants.

Re: toad. She mentioned a couple of times she has a bit of an addictive personality (or am I making that up?) so I'm wondering if she's decided to go cold turkey on social media for a while. I'm hoping it's that. Or her life is suddenly filled with those glamorous occasions she felt were lacking, and she's swishing about in posh frocks, drinking cocktails and chatting with A-listers (and not sparing a thought for us at all.....)

You're right Kitty because I don't get it either. It is pronounced Sc-oh-ne because that is how it's spelt. If it was Scon then you would spell it Scon or Scohn or Sconn.

The English language is full of exceptions, Vanilla! Every "phonetic" list like your one will have exceptions. Spelling is not prescriptive!
