For the lonely faces, in those empty spaces
For the unloved and the denied
For the little wheels turning bigger deals
For all the dreams that bloomed and those that died

Mother nature don't draw straight lines
We're broken moulds in a grand design
We look a mess but we're doing fine
We're card carrying lifelong members of
The Union of different kinds

All welcome we are Vanilla who makes cakes
Toad who is meme champion
Better who is advisory
Portia who has a famous boyf
AGL who is young
Jess well I dunno
Ruby Being and anyone I've forgotten

We requested it on Thursday and they contacted her at lunchtime. We'd asked for a priority remark.

Thankyou Vanilla Flowers :)

Being I wouldn't turn that down if I was offered it. Obviously the dollar is worth less now, so I may have to negotiate a bit. But I wouldn't say no.

Thank you, Portia! I aim to please.

Is it Oxbridge she is aiming for, Vanilla? Or just a very oversubscribed course like medicine, dentistry etc?

Report
VanillaSugar · 22/08/2016 18:20

Next tier down Better i.e. Edinburgh, that sort of place, and on a highly over subscribed course.

Oh God I've got all that to face next year and dd won't speak about uni other than Exeter. !!!!

So, imagine you'd wanted to go to Edinburgh and your second choice was Inverness. Absolutely nothing wrong with Inverness. But it's not Edinburgh. That sort of thing. Then imagine that you wanted to be a Archaeologist and didn't make the grade on ONE subject. Do you become an Archaeologist at Inverness? Or an Egyptologist at Edinburgh because the entry requirement is slightly lower for Egyptology?

And then other people are saying "Archaeology is a better subject than Egyptology" but she says "I want to go to Edinburgh!!!" And I think, actually, I wanted to go to Edinburgh too but I bummed out on my a levels and ended up in the arse end of nowhere in clearing and I've always felt sad about that.

I went to two unis and I can honestly say I enjoyed my time at both equally. I made great friends and they are what made my uni experience amazing.

I wouldn't go for a course that she doesn't want to do. It's a lot of money to spend if it's not what she wants. Could she maybe retake the exam in January and apply again next year?

Evening all. Portia. Beautiful opening lyrics, but not sure about the 'Jess - I dunno' part....

I have a lot to catch up on, I see.....

On the bright side, that grubby old man charming octegarian who propositioned me in the last thread, has taken to sitting on a bench outside Co Op, and this evening greeted me with the words 'I was thinking about you in bed this morning'.

So that pretty much puts the block on my early evening booze runs.

portia. That's always a bonus. Am rather vague about myself right now! Who am I? I dunno (I'm very philosophical, moi)

They don't so the January resits any more. She'd have to go back to school as a part-time student and resist the whole subject. Except.... she was at boarding school 100 miles away Confused

And then there's no guarantee that she'd bump up to an A anyway......

ConfusedHmm

And she wouldn't have a proper gap year where she can plant gardens in South America.

I've just told her that she needs to go to second choice and I think she's gone upstairs for a little 😢

What she meant, Jess, is that there were so many interesting things to list about you that she didn't know where to start... Wink

Jess I always find saying "Fuck off" to that sort of person quite therapeutic. But maybe, if you see him regularly, that's probably not quite a good idea.

Poor vanilla how stressful (am beginning to catch up). Planting gardens in South America is very over-rated.
