BeingATwatItsABingThing · 21/08/2016 15:19

So I am with friends at a BBQ. Taking a quick break to return to RL on MN while they cremate cook food.

PortiaCastis · 21/08/2016 15:31

Well I have been in trouble with Gran for walking past the oven while her Yorkshire pudding was rising Jim appears to have a stash of something strong in his hip flask which looks like an antique. Gran and he have been singing a rendition of the Road to Mingalay ( google it ) Jim's version has the title of the road to mingealay ..............
More to follow ......

VanillaSugar · 21/08/2016 15:37

A lot of good you are, Vanilla - after offering to be our personal shopper...

AverageGayLad · 21/08/2016 15:41

Where's my lemonade :(

PortiaCastis · 21/08/2016 15:46

Original versional
Please substitute ming for minge

Heel ya ho, boys, let her go, boys
Heave her head round to the weather
Heel ya ho, boys, let her go, boys
Sailing homeward to Mingulay

What care we though white the spray is
What care we for the wind and weather
Heel ya ho, boys, let her go, boys
Sailing homeward to Mingulay

Heel ya ho, boys, let her go, boys
Heave her head round to the weather
Heel ya ho, boys, let her go, boys
Sailing homeward to Mingulay

Wives are waiting by the pierhead
Or looking seaward from the heather
Heave her round boys and we'll anchor
Ere the sun sets on Mingulay

Heel ya ho, boys, let her go, boys
Heave her head round to the weather
Heel ya ho, boys, let her go, boys
Sailing homeward to Mingeolay

AverageGayLad · 21/08/2016 15:54

Finally home! But staff aren't answering the phone and we need a lift home :(

ItShouldHaveBeenJess · 21/08/2016 16:35

Poor AGL, hope you get home soon. Portia. 'Tis a song of great awesomeness.

PortiaCastis · 21/08/2016 16:47

Ah we have ensconced to the pub and are in the garden. Tis a bit windy but Jim has a roll up stuck to his bottom lip. Gran is singing Bulley in the Alley and I'm politely sitting ignoring the glares from others. Gran asked for a spooner of sherry. Erm I think she meant schooner
Of course I'm on orange juice and just a dash of erm water Grin

PortiaCastis · 21/08/2016 16:50

Idiots - I do fell sorry for them but natural selection? 😨

jetSTAR · 21/08/2016 18:22

*feel, sorry

ItShouldHaveBeenJess · 21/08/2016 18:25

I remember a while back the ex had gone surfing, and a really heavy sea mist rolled in, obliterating the beach. Lifeguards told people to get out of the water, but ex said even as he was getting dressed, you could still hear people in there. If anyone had got into difficulties, the lifeguards wouldn't have been able to see them!

VanillaSugar · 21/08/2016 18:30

A terrible story about Hayle a few years ago - the family were making sand tunnels and DC climbed in and the tunnel collapsed. why would people think that building a tunnel under wet sand was a good idea?

ItShouldHaveBeenJess · 21/08/2016 18:36

vanilla. Yes that was awful; there's a memorial bench above the beach for the little girl; but I find it strange there are no signs there warning people - you see people digging massive holes all the time; I do warn them but I have been told to mind my own business more than once!

carbcraver · 21/08/2016 18:40

I guess some people think 'it'll never happen to me'

Wrong. Nature is some scary shit!!

PortiaCastis · 21/08/2016 19:01

My dear Gran is a tad pissed and loudly singing No hopers jokers and rogues. Somehow everyone is singing so cannot be bad
My Mums husband is also drunk. I have got the giggles 😂 Dd is not impressed

PortiaCastis · 21/08/2016 19:13

Vanilla I had the giggles but you've made me roar with laughter

PortiaCastis · 21/08/2016 19:14
