AGL Don't panic. I got on a train at York with a girl. By the time we'd stopped at Doncaster she was in hysterics because she was supposed to go North, not South. The guard was fine and told her to catch the next train. It didn't help that she had a double bass strapped to her back which was bigger than she was.

The train doors are opened by the guard, I believe, when it's safe to do so.
