To love fangirling

I'm currently fangirling over a male celebrity - so am doing the usual - looking up every YouTube clip of him that's ever been recorded ... Looking up every internet nugget about him.

I was attracted to him cos of his good looks - coincidentally we appear to have had similar upbringings in SOME ways from what I've read!!

Ah there's worse ways to spend a weekday evening !!

Autocorrect at first changed 'similar' upbringings to 'solidarity' upbringings - as far as I know neither of us was brought up by a 1980s Polish political party ....

Saga - no I'm not losing weight FOR him as such it's just when I read his story etc felt there was enough similarity in our upbringings etc for me to be able to relate to him at some level and use that to inspire me iyswim. BUT - in other ways the environments we grew up in were completely different , of course...

My fangirling is well known throughout my friends and family but the Tumblr account and fanfic reading is not!

Snap YesAlways. I've always been obsessive, everyone who knows me knows that. But very very few know of my online tumblr/Wordpress/twitter activities and I don't even let DH read the fanfic I write even though I put it out there for plenty of others to read! It's all a bit mad. Grin

I just wouldn't enjoy having to explain fandom to people who aren't in it. Half the fun of fandom is that we all understand the tropes, the language etc.

I feel more understood in general in fandom, more myself.

I've never met him, but I used to run a very successful fan site for him, and he commented on the message page Grin I've seen him (with his band) live once - I'd taken DS and DD, and when he came onstage I admit to a couple of seconds of fangirl meltdown before I pulled myself together...

There are lots of very explicit adult content in fanfiction. I don't write, bt i enjoy reading sometimes. If i wrote, i'd also be mortified if it was read by people i know. Or more likely - they'd be mortified

Yes, WoburnSands - if you typed his name into Google my site came up in the top 5 results. I was quite proud of it, I must admit - I had to start paying for bandwidth because the free one I started with couldn't handle the traffic!
