If you had this physical 'quirk' would you try and rectify it? AIBU and superficial?

Firstly I am going to get these pictures deleted after a while as it's very embarrassing.

Ive always hated my ears. They are a weird shape. One is slightly better than the other as you can see from the pictures.

I debated for years before getting my ears pierced.

if you had these ears, would you seek correctional surgery?

Are they very unsightly?

I mostly wear my hair down.

Please be honest!

I wonder if this kind of surgery is even possible?

Thanks for reading.

I'm aware that there are more important things and that my hearing is perfect so I'm really lucky but... Sad

Not in a fit would I go for surgery to "fix" those ears! They're perfect! Kinda cute in fact. Leave them alone!

Petal40 · 16/08/2016 18:26

Sorry.im not sure what I'm supposed to be looking at...I just see a normal pair of ears..is it a trick question .

Cavogirl · 16/08/2016 18:29

If I had met you and you hadn't said anything to me I wouldn't even have given them a second thought/look.

As it is, I think they are very cute pretty ears. In fact, the bit you don't like about them I think makes them slightly pixie and adorable.

Imagine your child had these ears - wouldn't you think they were cute?

I understand we all have things we worry about- maybe someone said something to you about them in the past? But honestly you should be proud of these.

Badders123 · 16/08/2016 18:31

Um...what am I not seeing here?
They are nice, normal ears.

steff13 · 16/08/2016 18:33

I see what you're talking about, but I don't think of it as something "wrong" with your ears. They look fine.

That said, if you think you would feel better and more confident having surgery on them, I think you should do it.

ExConstance · 16/08/2016 18:34

Goodness no! be thankful you were not "blessed" with my family ears (dating back to at least 1830. large sticky out and with huge curled rims. dS 2 got them.

deadringer · 16/08/2016 18:37

I would kill for those tidy little ears, mine are pointy (like an elf) and stick out. When i was younger i hated them but I find as i get older i don't give a toss.

NotYoda · 16/08/2016 18:39

They are very tidy. Mine are quite flabby

sonlypuppyfat · 16/08/2016 18:41

My DS has got special ears they are not small and they stick out. But they've never bothered him he's still gorgeous. And Will Smith has got a good pair of ears. No one cares what people's ears look like. And yours look perfectly lovely

Effendi · 16/08/2016 18:42

Your ears are cute. I wouldn't notice unless you pointed it out.
Like PPs, great hair and skin!

ladybagpuss · 16/08/2016 18:43

They look fine! I hope you feel more reassured with all these comments Smile

PacificDogwod · 16/08/2016 18:46

Yes, have any of these responses helped at all, Earry? Smile

Stratter5 · 16/08/2016 18:46

I honestly cannot see anything wrong with your ears, BUT I do understand. I've spent years and years hating my ears for being big. Always wore my hair over them to hide them. One day I was talking to DD1, and mentioned how much I envied her for her 'perfect ears'. She measured mine, and hers, and guess what. They were identical in size. Slightly different shapes, but the overall measurements, done in front of a mirror so no cheating, were pretty much exactly the same.

We blow up what we perceive to be faults to be huge, in reality nobody else would ever even notice.

BadTasteFlump · 16/08/2016 18:47

Somebody get rainbow a shovel...

op your ears are fine Flowers

ExcuseMyEyebrows · 16/08/2016 18:52

They're much nicer than my big sticky out ears!
You also have lovely neat lobes.

Thingmcthingyface · 16/08/2016 18:55

If your funny ear is the least perfect feature you have then you are a lucky lady! I think they look cute. I'd keep em.... PS I BET you when you wear your hair up literally no one has ever noticed them.

Calyx72 · 16/08/2016 19:00

I can see the (slight!) difference. It would not have been noticeable to me in real life even with your hair in a bun. Your ears are very pretty and ladylike/delicate. They also suit the studs you have in.

This is as critical as I can get about your ears!

maddiemookins16mum · 16/08/2016 19:05

I can't actually see what I'm supposed to seeing!! They look fine to me.

WreckTangled · 16/08/2016 19:07

I have a weird ear. Yours look fine to me!

Gottagetmoving · 16/08/2016 19:08

I think your ears look lovely. I wish mine were like yours.
I think one someone decides there is 'something wrong' with them it is very difficult to convince them there isn't.
For some reason you have fixated on your ears.
My nose is slightly bent. I hate it and when I look at pictures it looks horrendous to me. Other people have said they hadn't noticed until I pointed it out.
I don't think you will believe anyone any more than I do when they reassure me. I wouldn't have surgery though.

tidyfairy · 16/08/2016 19:13

I've never had the courage to get my ears pierced or wear earrings because I have huge dangly earlobes and it would just draw more attention to them. Maybe not as big as the image I've just painted - but nevertheless I wear a hairstyle that covers them. When you think your ears are abnormal, you tend to look at other people's to see how they compare. I would look at yours and be envious because mine are not as 'normal' as yours. Having said all that, I've never been vain enough to worry about it unduly. (That's not a dig) Even my big dangly earlobes are just a variant of normal. I would not ever consider surgery to make my ears different, and yours are prettier than mine.

RoosterCogburn · 16/08/2016 19:15

I worked with someone who had an ear similar to yours - we had worked together for 5 years and I never noticed - only when she pointed it out to me.
She had long hair but often wore it tied back or tucked behind her ears.
I'm sure most people are like me and wouldn't notice

shockthemonkey · 16/08/2016 19:23

Lovely, fine delicate ears. One slightly different shape, and I'd swap the cut-off look for my huge, fleshy, pendulous lobes

tidyfairy · 16/08/2016 19:31

Rooster - Quite! When you talk to people you look at their eyes, not their ears! I can't imagine any social situation where one would visually examine somebody's ears. Except for my sad case of course, when I'm looking to see if their earlobes are bigger than mine.(Which are huge!)
I've given up doing that now, because nobody's ever are. And still I don't care. OP I would be happy to have your ears:)

EarryMcCleery · 16/08/2016 20:09

Thanks everyone.

I definitely feel much more reassured by the comments on this thread, it really is appreciated.

I'm also liking the pictures of people who feel they too have quirky ears. I can hand on heart say that I would never notice anything wrong with them!

Just to clarify when I talked about getting correctional surgery, it never even occurred to me to go via the GP; I would fully be intent on self funding.

Howeve reading the comments on this thread, I will quite possibly save my money.

Thanks everyone Thanks
