Well, we're back by popular demand. Or not, as the title suggests. It's been incredible that four threads have reached a thousand posts where nobody, no one and no one at all posted anything. At all.

So, continue the party. Join the party and gatecrash the party. Let's see if we can reach five thousand posts of whiffle, piffle and pictures of Aidan Turner.

There was a link! I posted it all proper.

Bettercallsaul1 · 13/08/2016 18:09

Portia - Since your family are obviously scone experts, could you enlighten us on the great MN scone controversy - namely, does the cream go on first or the jam? Please note I am talking about scones!

PortiaCastis · 13/08/2016 18:10

Jam jam always jam

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 13/08/2016 18:11

Cream is a topping. You don't put the cream in the bowl and then add the cake!

PortiaCastis · 13/08/2016 18:15

Cornish clotted cream obvs.
A touch of Dublin is ok though

Bettercallsaul1 · 13/08/2016 18:15

Ah, hang on - there's a Cornish cream tea and a Devon cream tea and one is cream on first and t'other is jam. Yours must be the Cornish one.

AverageGayLad · 13/08/2016 18:15

But how do you pronounce them?

PortiaCastis · 13/08/2016 18:17

Yes I was born in a wheal

Bettercallsaul1 · 13/08/2016 18:18

Personally, I always put the cream on first. but that's another thread

PortiaCastis · 13/08/2016 18:18

Scons is the Porth pronunciation

Bettercallsaul1 · 13/08/2016 18:21

Oh, that's a very controversial question too, Average. Grin

Bettercallsaul1 · 13/08/2016 18:22

But everyone knows it's scone to rhyme with "gone"

AverageGayLad · 13/08/2016 18:22

Right, just got to dash to Morrisons

Bettercallsaul1 · 13/08/2016 18:24

For scones?

PortiaCastis · 13/08/2016 18:25

Going off on a tangent, dd has text and is all excited because Kaiser Chiefs are at boardmasters tonight. I predict a riot

ItShouldHaveBeenJess · 13/08/2016 18:29

(Whispers: scons)

Bettercallsaul1 · 13/08/2016 18:33

Good to see we're all in agreement on this crucial issue!

PortiaCastis · 13/08/2016 18:33

We are going to dinner tonight at a very naice place but later on Aidy is filming at ........ Cove

ItShouldHaveBeenJess · 13/08/2016 18:34

PortiaCastis · 13/08/2016 18:37

Bettercallsaul1 · 13/08/2016 18:43

That will be a consolation.

RubyCav · 13/08/2016 18:51

Good to see we're all in agreement on this crucial issue!*

Sorry but I'm not. Everyone I know calls them scone as in S-Cone.

Bettercallsaul1 · 13/08/2016 18:54

A traitor in our midst. Grin

PortiaCastis · 13/08/2016 18:56

Ah but depends where you come from because down here we say scons
