I went to a beer garden today with the boy (6) and the dog (on a lead, well behaved) to kill an hour of time.
I spent that hour listening to a 'woman' (looked like a teenage girl) growling at her kids, 2 under 4, shrieking, calling them fucking little cunts, snatching toys off them for no reasons, barking at them, encouraging them to scare the dog 'to see if he was friendly', as she downed pints and shots, and left when a drinks tray flew at my face and she came over to retrieve it...not to apologise, as I assumed one of the kids had thrown it, but to laugh in my face as she said "well they wouldn't fucking share it so I fucking threw it away innit." No apology. Laughing at herself for nearly clouting a stranger in the face with a tray. I'm usually quite ballsy but Jesus, she seemed insane and quite volatile, so, feeling extremely sorry for her kids, I quietly left.
I've just had a text from my bank to say my bank card has been fraudulently used. I checked my bag. My wallet - which was on the table in the pub garden, is not there. The little scrunge not only terrified my dog and threw a drinks tray at my face and screamed at her kids all afternoon, it seems she nicked my wallet too.
I'm meant to move house tomorrow. I need to pay £2,200 that I have worked my arse off for, to a letting agents at 10am. Luckily for me I can go to my bank with ID and get it out. Unluckily for her, I left my phone on the table recording SB playing with the dog (making cute memories to listen to when I'm down) and caught all her shit in there too.
First move, calling the pub to see if they have CCTV in the garden.
Second stop, if she can be identified, social services?
I am a genuinely reasonable, decent person. But Jesus Christ, this thing hit all my nerves today. And her kids deserve her getting some help.

Wow, Amelie, you sound lovely Hmm

OP, I think you need to give the police as much information as possible and then let them handle it. Make sure you inform them that you suspect abusive behaviour as well as casual criminality.

Not sure why Jack is getting such a roasting. If this woman was the only person to come anywhere near her in the garden, then logic says that she was the wallet thief.

Who goes to a pub to kill time a day before they move house?! Bloody hell.

Is this post for real? Confused

There are two things going on, the theft and the child abuse.

You can't really report her to the police for the theft, unless there is CCTV of her doing it.

I'd ring NSPCC and ask their advice. The fact you have evidence is fantastic. Hopefully someone can track her down and help those poor kids. I wonder if the pub staff know her?

No better place to kill time than the pub

Stupid comment mortgagefree. Stupid, unhelpful and very nearly unintelligible.

Sigh. It didn't occur to me the pub might have CCTV til I got the message from the bank about my card. And then I realised if she could be ID'd then the clearly far more serious issue could be addressed.

Wow do people genuinely just think I'm a dick?

Why TF did you stay letting your DC listen to that? I'd have supped up and left pretty sharpish-letting landlord know about her delightful behaviour on the way out.

NUR at all. And no idea why you're getting a hard time on this thread! Confused get the CCTV and hopefully it'll show what happened. I'd report her to the police for throwing the tray tbh. And yes to SS if CCTV identifies her. So sorry you're having to deal with her shit.

OP I'd go to a police station with the recording.

Posters like mortgagefree are severely intellectually constipated and get a small frisson of excitement from deliberately almost getting the wrong end of the stick and then using it to beat you with!

No. I almost took one but couldn't put my finger on why doing it made me feel uncomfortable, so I didn't. I don't want to publicly shame her - we all have shit days - but I half wish I had. I dunno. It was quite shit all round.

No it doesn't. Jack says that her wallet was on the table. Then after getting the text from her bank she realised it was missing. She could have left it on the table and some random person picked it up.
