So I'm watching the telly while DD lies in her cot refusing to sleeptakes a nap and the Muller advert came on. The one about the winning gold for £50,000. There is something about that advert that just gives me the rage. I have to mute the telly and close my eyes until I predict it's over.

"I never won gold at the olympics but now I'm your Fairy GoodMuller, you can!" Argh!!!!

What adverts annoy my lovely Mumsnetters? Doesn't just have to be telly.

The one with the woman with the flat head!!!! I can't stand it!

TuppencePenny · 05/08/2016 01:00

Any of the horrific Just Eat ones where they sing about a takeaway. Watching it feels like I'm being insulted.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 05/08/2016 01:10

That perfume ad which shows a woman doing absolutely everything bloody perfectly right down to playing the piano naked. It's almost a parody of itself.

witchofzog · 05/08/2016 08:43

The Top Cat advert is Tiffany Chapman who played Rachel Jordache. Beth Jordaches younger sister. Beth Jordache was played by Anna Friel.

《Smug for once I actually know something albeit a bit useless emoji》

MrsJayy · 05/08/2016 08:46

I like the chinese just eat Ad but i love a boyband parody it makes me laugh the rest are meh. Johnny Depps Sauvage advert was so funny im not sure if it was serious or not but it was ridiculous

logosthecat · 05/08/2016 08:50

The BBC's trailer for the Rio Olympics is cringeworthy.

Don't get me wrong, it's beautifully executed, but the whole concept of the jungle 'animals' competing is both a huge cliche and, I think, a bit problematic in racial terms!

I have rarely seen an ad for womens' perfume that doesn't make me want to take a bottle of it and lob it through the telly. So many of them feel like they are as modern as whalebone corsets.

scaryteacher · 05/08/2016 09:47

The insurance one with the twerking man in tight denim shorts and heels...and the one for Canesten that I am convinced says check your internet health, where they mean intimate health, and I end up muttering darkly into my mug of tea about 'what the hell does Canesten habe to do with a computer'.

molyholy · 05/08/2016 09:50

The flash mob Hampson Hughes one. Pisses me off so much. Worst of all, I find myself singing it sometimes.

BettyDraper1 · 05/08/2016 10:20

MrsJayy - the Sauvage one is utter nonsense.

I saw a poster on a bus-stop for it and was tempted to print out an 'S' and glue it over the 'V'. Just to burst their pretentious bubble.

I restrained myself though always regretted not doing it

ImOnMyTumbleTap · 05/08/2016 10:31

You are all just reminding me that I hate EVERY advert!

Betty somebody did do it i saw Sausage on facebook last year i laughed for way longer than i should have but it really tickled me

Mycatsabastard · 05/08/2016 10:51

worra That advert is exceedingly annoying but DD2 misheard that and sings 'chicken and that' which has us all howling with laughter. It's now a standing joke in this house.

BettyDraper1 · 05/08/2016 10:53

I am jealous of that person but not surprised that somebody else took up the mantle. It was crying out for it!

'Johnny Depp...

Sausage

...by Dior'

Amazing.

MrsJayy · 05/08/2016 11:03

Grin it really deserved that S didnt it.

DownstairsMixUp · 05/08/2016 11:29

The clear score one. "Let's check our credit score with clearscore.com" "WHAT you wanna check it?!!" And he says it in utter disgust. Pisses me right off. Angry

TuppencePenny · 05/08/2016 11:52

The hot pant wearing man makes me feel queasy.

MackerelOfFact · 05/08/2016 12:00

The Haribo ones are creepy beyond words.

The trippy Ribena one is both unsettling and captivating. I can never decide if it makes me want to smile or cry.

The Pampers one is cute enough but the tagline 'where does all the pee go?' just makes me feel stabby. Pee? Really?

The Fairy one irritates me too, it's a remake of the old ad back in the days when the bottles were actually rocket-hull-shaped but they're not any more so it's just a bit stupid!

The Tesco ones are unspeakably awful. Why the hell did Ruth Jones and Ben Miller agree to appear in them?! At first I hoped maybe they were so witty that it'd gone straight over my head, but no...

seahorse106 · 05/08/2016 12:00

My little girl sings chicken and mash instead of chicken madras!

derxa · 05/08/2016 12:02

I HATE that payday loan advert, think it's QuickQuids or some stupid name like that, where the mother's off to work, her teenage son comes out and whines about the washing machine being broken so can't wash his uniform?
She muses then "clicks" her fingers as the solution magically presents itself! Let's get a payday loan!
Yes the woman is so annoying. I think it's because she's being portrayed as the efficient working woman. She gives me the rage.

ReginaBlitz · 05/08/2016 12:07

the malteser one where she breaks her bracelet, "just a snog?" Fucking cringe. All the tesco ones. The we buy any car ones where they are sat on sofas.

ReginaBlitz · 05/08/2016 12:08

Oh and that fucking chicken madras one is awful I actually turn over on that one.

EthelDurant123 · 05/08/2016 12:14

All ads for insurance companies. They are universally terrible.

Nicole Scherzinger for Muller.

The Iceland ones.

Any ad featuring washing powder/liquid with a carefree female getting stains out. Ffs. Men can use washing machines too!

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 05/08/2016 12:17

I've had one of those Weetabix drinks. If gave me the worst stomach ache that lasted all day, I'm surprised I didnt heave it all back up. Vile stuff.

ReginaBlitz · 05/08/2016 12:17

And the person near the top of the thread that mentioned the lloyds advert with someone doing a screechy version of birdies "wings" erm that is birdie Hmm

NickiFury · 05/08/2016 12:23

I also really like the Malteaser advert where she kicks "Neil" out for snogging someone else outside his work. I seem to like the adverts everyone else hates.
