Had my hair done on Saturday - we were talking sex; relationships and children and we were bemoaning how difficult it is to meet people at our age (we're both 41) and what we missed as single people.

I've always found him attractive and we always have masses to talk about (my frightwig takes about an hour to cut and dry) and I thought afterwards, fuck it, life's too short.

He has a website for a semi professional thing he does on the side so I emailed through it, suggesting we meet for a coffee. That was at lunchtime, am I insane?

I saw the post last night and was so sleepy couldn't find the energy to post

But good luck OP!

And I saw the photos no evidence of Photoshop, just a youthful looking woman :) and there is nothing wrong with that!

I look younger than my years, but I spent my 20's and my early 30's... Ok and my late 30's drinking nice wine :) well pickled I say! Not so much now get hangovers that could stop trains

Wordsaremything · 03/08/2016 22:02

Well at least you won't have to lie when they ask if you're goin out tonight, I suppose.

auldfuckingspinster · 04/08/2016 01:06

I smoked like a chimney and drank like a fish up till my early 30s, by rights I should look like Keith Richards!

PaulAnkaTheDog · 04/08/2016 01:20

Any response though?

auldfuckingspinster · 04/08/2016 07:49

Hanging in there. If he knew what he was missing!Grin

Hushabyelullaby · 06/08/2016 23:37

Did you hear anything OP?

auldfuckingspinster · 07/08/2016 10:02

Nope, am hoping Sunday is his admin day!

OnePlanOnHouzz · 07/08/2016 10:04

Fingers crossed for you !!

scarednoob · 07/08/2016 10:06

I think you were absolutely not U to ask him and keep clicking this hoping for a happy update! Unfortunately I think it's a shame you had to use his website as you'll never know if he's seen it unless he replies, and uncertainty is actually much harder to deal with than simple rejection!

My money's on him not checking it v often

auldfuckingspinster · 07/08/2016 10:29

Scared you're absolutely on the money! If I'd been a bit sharper I would have given him my number before I left the salon but it didn't really hit me till later on that it might be a goer. Damn!

Catsick36 · 07/08/2016 10:56

Just go back in there and ask him out!

auldfuckingspinster · 07/08/2016 11:13

I think a bit of direct action is needed!

auldfuckingspinster · 07/08/2016 11:16

He lives pretty close to my mum so perhaps serendipity will intervene as I'm visiting her today.

WellErrr · 07/08/2016 11:30

Oooh placemarking!!

Hushabyelullaby · 07/08/2016 16:39

Ooh still got everything crossed for you OP!

PhwoarGras · 07/08/2016 17:08

If it was on his business page that he uses to get commissions, you'd think he would be checking it regularly so as not to miss any potential business. Especially at this time of the year in Edinburgh. Has he updated anything on that page since you sent the email? Could he have perhaps set up a new one and that's his old never used page?

Is there any chance he wouldn't know it was you? Did you sign it first and surname? I'm guessing he has a lot of clients on Saturdays and he has lots of good chats with them too, so is you just signed off with 'first name', he doesn't know who you are?

auldfuckingspinster · 07/08/2016 19:06

First and second name, my picture is the first result on Google images.

Erring on the side of dropping off a note at the salon tomorrow, carpe diem and all that. Edinburgh has just been engulfed by a monsoon, don't envy the folks at the tattoo.
