My IP is the same on my laptop and phone, why is that?

If your phone and your laptop are both using your home wifi they will both have the same IP address as far as websites such as Mumsnet are concerned. The IP address websites see is actually the IP address of your router.

If you turn off wifi on your phone it will have a different IP address to your laptop.
