to think this is a fake Chester Zoo ticket? Seriously, is it fake!?

Yeah, I think we all know now, but is there like a 1% chance any form of ticket looks like this!?!?

This is basically a follow on too

I'm just struggling to understand why a registered childminder would jeopardise their career by lying to parents for a few extra quid. Surely she would realise that children tell their parents about their day? And you gave her an out when you said your DS enjoyed the museum and asked for the zoo ticket money back. All she had to do was give you the money and apologise for 'forgetting' to tell you about the change of plan. Instead she committed to the lie and dug herself deeper. Really makes me worry what else she might be lying about and why she needs money so desperately. It's a shame this has put you in a difficult position but it's better you found out now that you couldn't trust her before something more serious happened. Definitely report her.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought that Champagne!

CraftyPenguin · 01/08/2016 22:41

The Facebook comments are just brilliant!

Citruslemon · 01/08/2016 22:43

Sorry I meant Department for education.

I can't see this thread on FB, does anyone have a link please? Thanks.

FlissMumsnet · 01/08/2016 22:45

Hi Everyone,

Just thought we should wade in and make a polite request for peace and love on this thread Halo

We've no reason to believe the OP isn't genuine so we'd like to call an end to the troll-hunting and get back to what you all do best - offering advice and support.

Thanks a lot

Damselindestress · 01/08/2016 22:47

Rosie were you responding to me? Because that's basically what I already said, that OP was reasonable to ask for the money back and the childminder was wrong to lie.

TeaRexit · 01/08/2016 22:47

£1 change.

giraffesCantReachTheirToes · 01/08/2016 22:49

I believe you op.

user1469643462 · 01/08/2016 22:51

Thank you Fliss :)

She could have been running this scam for years and creaming off the profits. Definitely report her to Ofsted as a start. I would also want to talk to the other parents if possible.

SirVixofVixHall · 01/08/2016 22:52

How can I find the comments on facebook?

lifeofatwoworldmummy · 01/08/2016 22:54

How much profit is there really though in the occasional zoo trip versus the massive risk of being found out and
A) looking like a right eejit and
B) losing business

ABloodyDifficultWoman · 01/08/2016 22:57

Facebook comments are on the Chester Zoo page on the far left side so not on the main page but contained in a sidebar reserved just for - well - comments!

Farmmummy · 01/08/2016 22:57

Wow I have enjoyed the hilarity too but seriously it's a stressful situation for you and you are probably looking at emergency childcare now as there's not really a way back from this so hoping you at least get a refund for not only the dreaded zoo trip but also her fees

Exactly. I can't believe she seriously thought she would get away with this!! She mustn't think children speak to their parents...!?

Catsize · 01/08/2016 22:59

I know a Chester Zoo vet.
I know the lady who used to do the penguin talk.
I have an annual pass for the zoo.
There is currently a dinosaur exhibition but no troll hunting.

noisyrice · 01/08/2016 23:00

What has been said to the childminder op?

MrsRyanGosling15 · 01/08/2016 23:02

I have noting to add here.

dontmakemedothis · 01/08/2016 23:02

I agree, I can't see any way that this could be a long-term thing. You think OP's son would be the first to mention that he went to a museum and not the zoo? I'm sure the number of kids who go to the zoo and don't rave about the animals all day afterwards is

RebelRogue · 01/08/2016 23:04

My 4 yo wouldn't believe that's a real ticket

Sephrenia · 01/08/2016 23:04

Can someone link the original thread so I can catch up please!

BillyNotQuiteNoMates · 01/08/2016 23:07

Forget the Daily Mail, it'll be on The Wright Stuff later this week!
