And who decides when, you, dh, dc?

OP posts:
DamnSkippy · 29/07/2016 19:54

Maybe chippy every couple of months. But I have NEVER had hot food delivered to my house and I am 47!

KeyserSophie · 29/07/2016 19:55

Usually get Pizza express on a Sunday night and then 1 other night if we're not out. I decide. We normally get tex-mex.

kurlique · 29/07/2016 19:55

When the sh*t hits the fan logistics-wise! Probably once a fortnight but usually the chippy... Real treat is a Chinese and that would be only every few months as more than twice the price. Would love to go to a restaurant but with 2 teens that is now hugely expensiveSad so only on v special occasions.

Thecatmademedoit · 29/07/2016 19:55

Oh and it's usually a joint decision. If I've (or he has) a shit day at work it'll be a text of "Chinese and beers?" Smile

overitalready · 29/07/2016 19:56

Me - Once every three months diet treat

DH and DD once a week.

On my treat I pick.

I let them 2 argue it out once a week

AndersArms · 29/07/2016 19:57

Way too often - at least once a week, usually more. Joint decision.

MatildaTheCat · 29/07/2016 19:59

Very rarely, then it's posh fish and chips but I prefer to eat it at the restaurant. Most take away food is swimming in grease and lukewarm plus you don't know jphow long it's been sitting.

Waitrose does fantastic curry which is better than any takeaway I know and we live in a naice area. We have that quite often.

Lazyarticle · 29/07/2016 19:59

2-3 times a month, one of us will suggest it usually an Indian on a Fri or Sat night always have the same thing too! So predictable Smile

SparklyLeprechaun · 29/07/2016 20:00

Every 2 months or thereabouts. Joint decision

Fortitudine · 29/07/2016 20:00

Once a month or less. Usually Indian. I do sometimes get Chinese dim sum treats from the Chinese supermarket and count them as almost like a takeaway as they can be a bit pricey.

Normandy144 · 29/07/2016 20:01

Between 2-4 times a month. Usually on a Friday or Saturday night. It's 95% me that initiates it as I do the majority of the cooking so if I can't be bothered or have had a rough day with the kids then DP fires up the Just Eat app at my request without argument. 2 kids are under the age of 3 and always in bed so it's for us and not them. Tonight, despite a embarking on day 1 of potty training with eldest DD, I have cooked a meal, and tomorrow if the weather cooperates we are BBQing, so will probably have a take away next week.

KP86 · 29/07/2016 20:02

Once a month/six weeks only, as we are trying to eat more healthily, plus I am home most of the time and therefore have plenty of time to cook.

If we do, it's always suggested by DH, but I don't take much convincing!

Usually Indian or pizza.

Before we had DS and we were both working full time it would have been more like 1-2 times per week of either take away or eating at our local.

rainbrella · 29/07/2016 20:03

6 a year if even that. children are under 5 so no takeaway for them. joint decision but sometimes dh, not often though, will have one if i dont.

NoCapes · 29/07/2016 20:03

Depends what you class as a takeaway really
I don't consider McDonald's/kfc type places to be takeaways, just 'holy shit look at the time j haven't sorted dinner' type meals (which happens way too offen!)
A proper takeaway is every other Friday night when the kids stay at my mums and we have a big fat curry

Junosmum · 29/07/2016 20:03

More often than we should- about once per week. But we are going to reduce that now. Joint decision.

Amelie10 · 29/07/2016 20:03

2-3 times a week. I can't imagine only doing it a few times a year.

Oh and it's usually me who decides. DP never had takeaway til he left home (parents didn't like "foreign food") and doesn't often think of it as an option.

JamieVardysParty · 29/07/2016 20:05

Rarely. It's usually Nandos delivery when we do.

We eat out once a week though at least.

Damselindestress · 29/07/2016 20:06

No DC yet. DH and I have takeaway approximately fortnightly. It's mostly my idea, DH thinks it's a waste of money but I'm the one who does most of the cooking and sometimes I want a break!

LucyInTheSkyWithDonuts · 29/07/2016 20:10

About once every couple of months

Usually a joint decision based on the fact there is suddenly no food in the house!

Ditsy4 · 29/07/2016 20:13

About twice a month now DC have left home. Usually when DH is home but sometimes if I have been at work, GPs and then have a meeting I nip in and buy one and eat it in the car before the meeting much to the amusement of anyone arriving early.

froubylou · 29/07/2016 20:13

Friday night is takeaway curry night. Or sit down curry night.

We are lucky enough to have a fantastic one that delivers and a sit down place a 15 minute walk away. Both are awesome.

We also live across from a dominos, kfc, subway, chippy, greggs, 2 x cafes, a noodle bar, Costa Coffee and they are building a Taco Bell. Oh and an awesome thai place.

So we have had to set a specific night otherwise it would be so easy to have something every night.

goose1964 · 29/07/2016 20:15

Never

limon · 29/07/2016 20:17

A few times a year.
