And who decides when, you, dh, dc?

OP posts:
Zuccarelli · 29/07/2016 22:28

Hardly ever. We would have more I think but we can't afford it! Dp and I decide together. Ds doesn't have it as he's 18months.

janethegirl2 · 29/07/2016 22:28

Whenever I can't be arsed to cook. Could be monthly or every 2 weeks depending on how I feel.

Or in a bad week, every other night!

LauraMipsum · 29/07/2016 22:58

Most Fridays. It's on the meal planner so we both decide it.

Gwenhwyfar · 30/07/2016 08:17

"What take away has going for it is eating effortlessly while watching the telly"

But you can do that with a pizza from your corner shop for a quarter of the price.

MermaidTears · 30/07/2016 08:18

Twice a week, normally curry. We decide because we fancy it. DC don't really eat it and would have already had their dinner. Very occasionally we order pizza hut or dominoes as a treat for DC...few times a year i would say

PinguForPresident · 30/07/2016 08:22

Pretty much never. No spare money for that.

I take the kids to McDonalds once a term - end of term treat - but never get takeaways. THey're not great value.

I think the last time we had one was in our old house, so over 5 years ago.

gininteacupsandleavesonthelawn · 30/07/2016 08:25

2-3 times a month, one of us suggests and the rest agree (last night 5yo DD suggested pizza, she gets to pick fri night dinner) if curry or Chinese usually between DP and I or when we have guests.

Afreshstartplease · 30/07/2016 08:27

Really depends

It's usually dp who instigates

Some weeks twice others we can go weeks without

Personally I feel like I'm wasting money when I get one

chocolateismyweakness · 30/07/2016 08:34

Usually once a week. Either Chinese, Indian, pizza and occasionally chippy. Usually on a Saturday night when the kids are in bed and I usually suggest it Blush

When in in the mood I make curry at home from scratch and do my own naan and sides and everything. We both agree it's much tastier and less greasy but it's just time consuming!

NoahVale · 30/07/2016 08:34

about every 6 months

NoahVale · 30/07/2016 08:35

about twice a year, when DH nagging for fish and chips gets to me and coincides with pay day.
ie. last friday

Eastpoint · 30/07/2016 08:37

3 or 4 times a year. Usually have the basics for a quick meal in & it's quicker to cook.

MajesticWhine · 30/07/2016 08:37

Once a week. Possibly less in the summer because we do a lot of bbqs. We decide together as a family, although we rarely all agree. Chinese, Turkish or pizza are the usuals.

LippyLiz · 30/07/2016 08:44

In theory, once a week, on a weekday as we're all usually home, we take it in turns to choose and there's to be no argument over the choice of the week.

PNGirl · 30/07/2016 08:46

It depends what you class as takeaway. Full-on curry delivery with sides etc - maybe once every 3 months. Chinese once every 6 months. Nipping to the Mexican takeaway for a couple of burritos or the chippy for fish butties is more like monthly. I also have a Thai for lunch at work about once a month.
We quite often go out instead, living in a town centre where we can walk to everything. These are all decided jointly while staring into the freezer for inspiration.

DollyBarton · 30/07/2016 08:51

Maybe once every 4 months. I'll be honest, take sways are not something to look forward to in my house, we only have them when really stuck and too tired to prepare something. My cooking is far better and nicer than anything I've ever had as a takeaway.

BuggerLumpsAnnoyed · 30/07/2016 08:52

Not very often over the summer, but more now DH has started rugby training again as its later than I like to cook so he usually picks it up on the way home on a Tuesday.

Botanicbaby · 30/07/2016 08:53

Every 6-8 weeks approx. Maybe longer...

Would like it to happen more frequently but living in middle of nowhere now.

Used to love living a few doors away from our local excellent Chinese Grin

Ihatechoosingnames · 30/07/2016 08:54

DH and I both decide, usually randomly can't be arsed cooking. Works out maybe once a month we have a takeaway

Maz2444466 · 30/07/2016 09:34

Very rarely, maybe once every two-three months. For a treat we get the Waitrose meals on a Saturday like their two starters, two mains, rice and two side dishes for a tenner deal which is just such good value and yummy!!

Sugarlightly · 30/07/2016 09:46

Maybe once a month? Am a couple, no kids

SinglePringle · 30/07/2016 09:57

Once or twice a year? Am single, no kids.

Mainly because they are so fattening

JackShit · 30/07/2016 10:03

Was once a fortnight, now maybe twice a year as I've been on a diet.

PickleSarnie · 30/07/2016 10:06

We haven't had one since the week after my youngest was born. So nearly 4 years. Then before than was 2 years earlier when my eldest was born.

Takeaways always make me feel a bit grubby and used. And not in a good way. I'd rather spend the cash on decent steak tbh.

Evergreen17 · 30/07/2016 10:11

Maybe twice a month
Sometimes once
But I do buy lunch as I have a long commute and work full time
