and in the small independently run deli near Nigella's house

MrsTerryPratchett · 03/08/2016 17:41

You can't make ratatouille without garlic. This is why me never cleaning the fridge is good. There's always a clove somewhere in there!

Bettercallsaul1 · 03/08/2016 17:43

Oh, I would say that garlic is pretty well a sine qua non for ratatouille, Vanilla. But Lisa upthread had planted lots of garlic in her garden to ward off vampires so perhaps she could give you some?

Bettercallsaul1 · 03/08/2016 17:45

Several good suggestions there. My goodness, this thread is helpful!

VanillaSugar · 03/08/2016 17:46

Thank you thank you thank you BUT I NEED GARLIC NOW!!!!!!

OP posts:
Bettercallsaul1 · 03/08/2016 17:49

But Lisa just lives two pages back!

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 03/08/2016 17:50

If you refer to the final page in one of Nigella's recipe books then I'm sure she can recommend an online garlic specialist who can airdrop some directly into your garden within minutes of placing your order ....the delivery charge may be prohibitive though

VanillaSugar · 03/08/2016 17:51

But I need it in real life!!!!! wails

This is what the Amazon drones will do. Natch.

VanillaSugar · 03/08/2016 17:52

Thank you shagged - I'm googling it right now.

Bettercallsaul1 · 03/08/2016 17:54

I'm impressed, shagged - you know your onions!

VanillaSugar · 03/08/2016 17:54

Hang on, that sort of delivery is for icing sugar and talc. Well, stuff that looks like it, anyway. And I would like to most emphatically point out that garlic is not a euphemism for anything. At all. It is garlic.

Bettercallsaul1 · 03/08/2016 18:00

Think you might be protesting a bit too much, Vanilla. People aren't usually this desperate about garlic.

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 03/08/2016 18:02

One can only assume that Vanilla's withdrawal shakes have reached a point where she is incapable of typing messages any longer

Bettercallsaul1 · 03/08/2016 18:06

Yeah, she'll be back later all calm and happy again after having her "garlic".

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 03/08/2016 18:11

Either that or she'll end up in the local A&E after a garlic overdose

So so sad

Bettercallsaul1 · 03/08/2016 18:11

I'm guessing it might be crystal meth - she said she was cooking. Obviously this batch is taking longer than she thought.

Bettercallsaul1 · 03/08/2016 18:14

So so sad.

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 03/08/2016 18:15

Too much Breaking Bad

I've heard that ratatouille is a gateway drug to the hard stuff

VanillaSugar · 03/08/2016 18:15

Is Crystal Meth a type of mint favoured champagne? Here is my garlicless rat , you horrible lot!

Hmm - that's so obviously taken from a cookbook. The evidence is mounting, I'm afraid.

MrsTerryPratchett · 03/08/2016 18:20

Mint flavoured champagne? That kind of disingenuous comment is the kind of thing I'd hear when I worked in a rehab. Denial is not a river in Egypt.

VanillaSugar · 03/08/2016 18:23

Nigella, Nigel and Jamie do not flick Vs in their cook books so there! HA!
