WWYD car parked on our drive

Some complete asshat has left their car parked on our drive.

It has been there at least since my OH got home at 4.30, but could have been there all day.
Have phoned 101 and police say not reported stolen but they won't do anything as the car is on private land and not blocking us in. It's not a car that we recognise as belonging to neighbours and we're not near a hospital, station, airport etc.
We have currently parked across the drive preventing said car from leaving and left our phone number on the window. However, as we have a baby and a toddler our phones are on silent at night.
WIBU to leave the car blocked in until morning?
Or how can we get the car moved?

I would absolutely love to meet Anthony Head. I've always had a thing for him.

maggieml11 · 22/07/2016 16:44

Hi! I saw an article like this once in Glasgow. Guy parked car on someone's driveway, police called but were told "" if you touch this car no matter who parked it here, we will have to charge YOU. Police advised the couple to tether the car and avoid removal ( or as you say block it in) and tho' you cannot ask for parking money, you can ask for a decent donation for a charity before releasing it. I was shocked to further learn that ANYONE can PARK ANYWHERE if they so desire and there is f...all you can do about it.....noo that's scary guys.

BringMeTea - we should start the Never Met Anthony Head Club.

Not badges saying "I Like Head"? Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 22/07/2016 18:11

I wasn't sure you'd want to wear that in public on the railways of Britain where AH is so often to be found. It could lead to interesting encounters

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 22/07/2016 18:20

That's what I was thinking!

TheWitchesofIzalith · 22/07/2016 18:20

Can I join? I've never met him, and I wouldn't mind an interesting encounter on a train. I lead a very uninteresting life!

Rrross1ges · 22/07/2016 19:11

I saw Sacha Baron-Cohen in Covent Garden once. He wasn't looking for candles though

What was he looking for? Was it dirty?

JohnCheese · 22/07/2016 19:19

Loving the derail. Never met AH. However when I was a slip of a thing, I was wandering around our local fancy dept store and heard a VERY distinctive voice......Alan Rickman! His voice carried all over the store.

Friend met Pierce Brosnan on the street while looking at buskers. He said to her 'aren't they great', she answered 'yes they are wonderful' (apparently they were) and looked up to see Pierce. She said he was totally stunning irl

I was a school with a girl whose mother used to work with a man whose auntie lived next door-but-one to a couple whose adopted Paraguayan son was at university (I think it was Sheffield) with a curly-haird girl whose boyfriend thought he was in the same shop as Anthony Head once.

Marsaday · 22/07/2016 19:47

The sodding car is still sitting on the street mocking me. Still no idea who owns it.

Sorry

fourkids · 22/07/2016 20:32

I spoke to AH on the phone. Does that count? His voice was lovely :)

MiddleClassProblem · 22/07/2016 20:41

I can't believe AH is still parked outside your house? Has he put the candle on the doorstep at least?

fourkids · 22/07/2016 21:06

I've heard that, lovely as AH is, he has form for this...

MiddleClassProblem · 22/07/2016 21:15

I knew it!

Ole Anthony Head-ing out to park in your drive

SparkleSoiree · 22/07/2016 21:24

I read this thread the other day when you started it and was shocked that somebody not living at your home would actually park on your drive without permission - how often could that possibly happen I thought?

Yesterday lunchtime I had to collect my daughter from somebody's house and I met them both outside the person's house. As the person greeted me he did a double take to his right looking at his drive and said "that's not your car, is it?" I said it wasn't but maybe somebody had returned home whilst he was treating my daughter? He said that he had no idea whose car it was so was about to start visiting neighbours to find out!

His drive was pave blocked, obviously part of his house/property as the road was Tarmac and pavement clearly marked.

I can't believe people just pull into other people's drives to park and walk off!

BitOutOfPractice · 22/07/2016 22:20

I guess all of us, Anthony Head included, have a dark side

britespark1 · 22/07/2016 22:29

I met AH a few weeks ago (it's my FB profile pic). I love him (sorry, had to join in the de-rail and get that in!)
