WWYD car parked on our drive

Some complete asshat has left their car parked on our drive.

It has been there at least since my OH got home at 4.30, but could have been there all day.
Have phoned 101 and police say not reported stolen but they won't do anything as the car is on private land and not blocking us in. It's not a car that we recognise as belonging to neighbours and we're not near a hospital, station, airport etc.
We have currently parked across the drive preventing said car from leaving and left our phone number on the window. However, as we have a baby and a toddler our phones are on silent at night.
WIBU to leave the car blocked in until morning?
Or how can we get the car moved?

He wafts around Britain, dispensing his particular brand of suave charm!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 22/07/2016 10:39

He's never wafted it in my direction, BitOut - I feel all left out and rejected now. Sad

dodgypinz · 22/07/2016 10:43

Be careful. Annoying as this is (I have a drive and have problems from time to time) don't be too provocative. Clearly they literally know where you live and can come back at any time and damage your car/home. Not trying to be alarmist but there are vengeful people around. Read some of the suggestions on this thread. I would just leave a note on the windscreen pointing out politely this is a private driveway and requesting them not to park here. Keep a note of their car registration in case they park there again. Then consider your options.

dodgypinz · 22/07/2016 10:48

Sorry. I got bored reading all the threats suggested and skipped to posting, not realising the car had been moved.

MiddleClassProblem · 22/07/2016 10:58

Maybe Anthony Head parked his car on your drive?

HalsallRedux · 22/07/2016 11:03

Sorry, derailing briefly while we wait for something to happen however....I've never met Anthony Head but I do know someone who has. And, apparently, he is indeed lovely.

It's like Six Degrees of Separation re-booted Grin

Rrross1ges · 22/07/2016 11:08

I've never met Anthony Head either. I've only ever met proper rubbish slebs.

PurpleAquilegia · 22/07/2016 11:12

Yes to Anthony Head: my ex-boyfriend's ex-girlfriend was an actress, and very close friends with Anthony Head (before his career resurgence with Buffy). Ex-bf said he was an absolutely lovely chap. Grin

MiddleClassProblem · 22/07/2016 11:25

I met him through the rescue centre I worked at. Bloody charitable animal lovers him and his wife. They must have some hidden scandal in there somewhere.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 22/07/2016 11:36

I heard he spent years hanging out with a blonde teenage girl who claimed she was killing vampires, MiddleClass - that's quite scandalous, imo! WinkGrin

Let me know if anything exciting happens about the car - I'm just nipping off to find a thread about someone paying £50 for a candle ...

MiddleClassProblem · 22/07/2016 13:20

Lol it's the teacher gift thank you one

Paris7 · 22/07/2016 13:24

Tut tut, Take a wheel off and leave a note to say that you have one almost the same for sale if that helps them.

JapaneseSlipper · 22/07/2016 13:32

Huh. I haven't met Anthony Head, but I did see him in a shop once. One of my few celebrity spots. It all feels a bit standard now!

MiddleClassProblem · 22/07/2016 13:35

That counts

JudyCoolibar · 22/07/2016 14:02

I hope Anthony Head was being lovely, Japanese?

BitOutOfPractice · 22/07/2016 15:05

Was Anthony Head buying a £50 candle?

BitOutOfPractice · 22/07/2016 15:06

And there's a sentence I thought I would never type

BringMeTea · 22/07/2016 15:09

Ha ha. Loving the Anthony Head derail. I too feel particularly put out not to have encountered him especially as I have roved First Great Western trains over the years.

MiddleClassProblem · 22/07/2016 15:34

Maybe he was buying the candle to apologise for parking in the driveway

TheWitchesofIzalith · 22/07/2016 16:21

I saw Sacha Baron-Cohen in Covent Garden once. He wasn't looking for candles though.

hastheworldgonemad · 22/07/2016 16:34

I saw chief inspector Brownlow from the Bill in Covent Garden. Wink
