To be appalled that DP pronounces the L in almond

I say armond.. Am I wrong? Almond sounds wrong..

I have a friend who does it. I laugh every time.

I have no idea who is right. Wether you should or not. But after 34 years of never hearing the 'L' I makes me laugh.

I've only ever heard the make believe people inside the TV say armond.

I say ahmond.

But apparently both are correct (silent l or pronounce l).

Regional differences?
My DF says almond with the l sounded, and comes from the South West of England. I grew up in the Midlands and don't sound the l.

(I am also in a mixed marriage on the scone front.. we have learned to live with the difference!)

I would say armond. I think al-mond is the American and the Indian English pronunciation.
