I'm not rich, far from it, minimum wage 25hours a week
Always wanted a radley picture bag but can't really afford it
Saw it reduced, £229 to £123
Decided to break the bank and buy it, 3 days after it arrives it was reduced to £113 grrrrr
Rang customer services they said they can't refund the difference but I can reorder and return, so I did
Now it's down to £103
Shall I reorder and return again??!! This is getting silly, but I paid on my credit card and every £10 off helps!!
I've got the balance down to £40so if I do it again I'll only owe £30 on my credit card
What would you do???!!!! Don't want to get black balled!!!

Glastowkitty I was just about to type the same thing. Why do you lot making such spiteful comments think it's acceptable?! Let's see your bags and shoes so we can slate your taste...oh no, we wouldn't because we are not utter fucking bitches.

Stars2theside · 20/07/2016 19:18

Do it. Return it and reorder. Save the money. Not like you're going to be buying from them regularly, so why not? And customer services even suggested it to you! Each new order is exactly that, a new order. So shouldn't affect you!

Lozzamas · 20/07/2016 19:57

I'd return it - it's every consumers duty to get everything as cheaply as they can do (as long as it hasn't been worn and returned unless faulty) however much they earn - it's part of the shopping sport. I'd also return the pristine new bag and use the one I had from now on.
I have a handbag fettish 2 Mulberry, a Coach and a Hermes Bag ( No lecture I can afford them - I prefer sale price but have been known to pay full whack) point is I have a number of Radleys as very loved bags - I actually think they're better designed I.e more practical than the mulberry's, but they don't have the desired cachet for some reason... You enjoy it!!

Go for it 😊

TSSDNCOP · 20/07/2016 20:38

Absolutely not unreasonable. If a store has an X day refund policy and you've got goods within that date that haven't been used you're absolutely within yr rights to return and buy again.

In the case of a website, buy a lower price and wait for it to actually arrive before returning the higher price.

In the case of a physical store you basically take yours back then immediately buy again. The only time I've ever ever had this refused was in M&S. They couldn't even explain why they were reasonable to decline.

TSSDNCOP · 20/07/2016 20:47

In the case of Hope the problem really lies in the dual evils of social media and customer service.

The assistant can usually tell at a glance some old skank that's pulled a fast one, they are riseable and all their excuses are pathetic and unbeknownst to them used all the time by like-minded skanks.

But their power lies in slating the store that won't cooperate on SM and then spineless CM rather than realise most real loyal customers can also spot a skank and are utterly pissed off that they play cricket when the skanks don't, roll over and overrule the Store and give a refund.

If stores were smart they'd collaborate and take a united anti-skank approach that would please real customers enormously.

I thought most places did the return at the current price to stop people taking advantage?

IFinishedTheBiscuits · 20/07/2016 21:33

I probably wouldn't bother to return it a second time for £10.

However I have been known to give family store-bought full-price Christmas presents from Next, then retrieve them once they've unwrapped them but before they use them, return them for a full refund, and replace the gift with a half-price version from Next online VIP sale a week or so later.

It only works because the VIP sale starts before Christmas but isn't delivered until after, so you know if you've been able to order it cheaper before Christmas Day.

In my defence I was skint and products were unused.

Woodhill · 20/07/2016 21:36

Everything is so marked up , recently I bought stuff for a special occasion and returned it and bought it back again. I saved about £100 so worth it.

FeelingSmurfy · 20/07/2016 21:43

Bails that is if you haven't got a receipt, to stop someone buying it cheap and saying they bought it last week at full price

IFinishedTheBiscuits · 20/07/2016 21:44

Bails, I think most shops will refund at original price if you have a receipt. Customers can still take advantage without a receipt though.

I used to work at BHS (sob) and I remember a lady buying a pair of socks which had just been marked down to half price with a sale label but were still coming up a full price on till. I apologised for them coming up at full price and said I'd override it and she suddenly decided she loved them and wanted four more pairs.
About an hour later on I went to customer services to pick up our department's returns and the five pairs of socks had come back! She'd pulled off all the sale labels and returned them for full price (credit vouchers) saying she'd lost her receipt. That was seen as fraud and store detectives tried to find her.

Sallystyle · 20/07/2016 21:51

I want a link to the bag to see if I should put it on my CC

I wouldn't bother with sending it back personally, too much hassle for my liking but nothing wrong with you doing so. YANBU.

kully19 · 20/07/2016 22:27

I have done this once at oasis, but wouldn't do it a second time because I'm too lazy and would have worn the clothes by the time the next reduction was.

Also, I did send a bag back once and reordered, but it went out of stock, so my loss.

In my opinion that isn't a lot of money for a bag, and you have already made a big saving, so strat using it!!

2kids2dogsnosense · 20/07/2016 22:47

If it were me, I'd give it a couple of weeks to see if it came down further. If it did, I'd risk losing it and send it back and re-order. If not, I'd hang on to the bugger! Everything reaches a point where people are prepared to pay for it. no matter how 'orrible it is. You might send it back and someone else gets it and it's the last one . . .

If it is reduced further - and it upsets you to pay that bit more - send it back. Otherwise, you were happy with it before, just enjoy it. You may never get another.

RosasBitch · 21/07/2016 14:55

If you can be bothered to put that much effort in then go for it. You are obviously very good with money - don't be embarrassed! I hope you get it for a tenner and then you must post a picture of you wearing it with pride no matter how ugly it is!

Mynameisdominoharvey · 21/07/2016 15:29

If this is the extent of your problems then you're lucky Hmm

GloriousGusset · 21/07/2016 15:31

I'd imagine the OP has other problems in her life too. But she probably didn't feel they were relevant to this thread. Much like your huffy little face.

VeryBitchyRestingFace · 21/07/2016 21:49

If this is the extent of your problems then you're lucky

What prize class pains in the arse posters like this are.

EttaJ · 22/07/2016 02:57

dominoharvey so people aren't allowed to post anything other than serious problems? You're an idiot at best. restingface they sure are.
