I'm not rich, far from it, minimum wage 25hours a week
Always wanted a radley picture bag but can't really afford it
Saw it reduced, £229 to £123
Decided to break the bank and buy it, 3 days after it arrives it was reduced to £113 grrrrr
Rang customer services they said they can't refund the difference but I can reorder and return, so I did
Now it's down to £103
Shall I reorder and return again??!! This is getting silly, but I paid on my credit card and every £10 off helps!!
I've got the balance down to £40so if I do it again I'll only owe £30 on my credit card
What would you do???!!!! Don't want to get black balled!!!

Oh I have done this, I asked Boden if they would refund the difference once and they told me to reorder, do I did, I have also done it at M and S, it's ok as long as postage is free. It takes the shine of a bargain if it goes down cheaper and you don't take advantage

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 19/07/2016 16:13

I would be devastated if I didn't have the bag

Really?? Hmm

That seems a little extreme over a handbag but whatever floats your boat.

SuburbanRhonda · 19/07/2016 16:13

Seriously, you'd be "devastated" if you couldn't own a handbag that retails at over £200 when you're earning £7 an hour?

SaucyJack · 19/07/2016 16:14

Does it have a lido on it?

I think you are so far removed from my own idea of a bargain hunter that it's probably best if I refrain from posting any further on this thread ;-)

VeryBitchyRestingFace · 19/07/2016 16:24

In that case your dilemma is easily solved. Smile

You have to work out which outcome would be more devastating for you:

  1. potentially ending up with NO bag because the stock runs out whilst you return your 1st/2nd/3rd bag.

OR

  1. owning the bag but seeing further reductions made.

I would say that option 2 is easier to control. If/when you buy the bag, stop looking at the bag online/instore.

That way if it's reduced still further, you'll hardly know. And you'll still have your bag.

Gymboree567 · 19/07/2016 16:24

Hahaha I know it's only a bag! And loads of people will hate it, but that's not the point of the question, I like it and that's what matters :)

OP posts:
Gymboree567 · 19/07/2016 16:25

They keep emailing me,
" further reductions" "all sale now half price" "extra 10%off"
I should really unsubscribe!

OP posts:
Gymboree567 · 19/07/2016 16:26

It's like they're taunting me, they might as well email me
"You know that bag you bought last week, well it's cheaper this week"

OP posts:
LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 19/07/2016 16:27

I have no idea what it looks like but then I would rather stick pins in my eyes than spend more than £20 on a handbag so I am probably not best placed.

BitOutOfPractice · 19/07/2016 16:29

Goodness me people just love to judge how people spend their money don't they? Even when, as in this case, the person is clearly a sensible and responsible spender

Enjoy your bag OP, no matter what you end up paying for it

WoahSlowDown · 19/07/2016 16:29

Lol at posters who think you would be literally devestated if the OP didn't get her bag. Try googling 'Hyperbole'

OP, I think you can do this if you want. You don't need permission from MN.

Gap (US) used to offer to give you the difference of items that had gone down in price in their sales within a month. I

dowhatnow · 19/07/2016 16:29

Well now you've posted this they will run out of them as people rush to order... so there might not be any lower reductions.

indecisivedoctor · 19/07/2016 16:32

Wow- this is supposedly a supportive forum and some posters are so harsh!

OP I personally do not think it's unreasonable to repurchase at a lower price. I also did this with my bridesmaids dresses years back.

I hope you get lots of pleasure from the bag- it sounds like you work hard and think carefully about what you buy.

On a side note - with a £9000 you are fantastically controlled to only have a £30 balance! I would be a blardy disaster!!

VenusOfWillendorf · 19/07/2016 16:32

It's going to annoy you. Return the bag - providing you're OK with knowing it might then go out of stock. But then STOP LOOKING! You'll drive yourself mad!
Do unsubscribe from the e-mail. Do it right now. You'll be much happier for it!

Goingtobeawesome · 19/07/2016 16:33

How about you buy it and then don't look again to see if it has been further reduced..

JAPABiamtheonewhoknocks · 19/07/2016 16:34

Be wary of too many returns to online stores as Amazon, for instance, has been known to ban customers for this. Not that I am suggesting that this would happen in a one-off situation of two close returns, just be wary of making a habit of close returns to get an extra tenner off.

ample · 19/07/2016 16:40

I would go for it but do give yourself a limit. Say, £100.
If it is reduced again after you have hit that sale limit then no more returning and re-purchasing. If it's a bag you have always wanted then you're still getting a bargain even at the price you have already paid.
Tbf I think £100 is too much to pay for a doggy bag but each to their own Smile

Gymboree567 · 19/07/2016 16:44

I kind of wish it would go out of stock as that would solve the dilemma!
I am very careful with my money, I save every month, don't smoke or drink, the bag is my luxury item
I am worried about being banned from radley for too many returns

OP posts:
Nospringflower · 19/07/2016 16:47

I would return it again. Get it for the best price you can and then you will love it all the more!

WanderingTrolley1 · 19/07/2016 16:51

If I wanted s bag that much, I wouldn't want to risk losing it by continually returning it.

SuperFlyHigh · 19/07/2016 16:53

yes do it

acasualobserver · 19/07/2016 16:54

Every time you return the bag you are, temporarily, without the thing you bought that gives you pleasure. It's not all about money - enjoy your bag and stop thinking too much. Life's awful short.

limitedperiodonly · 19/07/2016 16:55

Whenever I feel there's too much joy in this world there's always MN to put me right.

londonrach · 19/07/2016 16:55

Do it! (Love my radley purse, bought in sale 10 years ago, used every day and still going strong)

LockedOutOfMN · 19/07/2016 16:56

Do it!
