Hiding from the smell. Bloody dh

So house guest decides to cook. Shows dh the recipe and is checking off ingredient list together. Recipe has ingredient on that dh knows I absolutely hate in food.
He obviously knows this as when I smell it and ask if it's got it in dh laughs and pretends it hasn't and house guest looks sheepish and says they were just following instructions.

Not only do I hate the taste of this stuff but it smells strong so now I am sitting in my room unable to go find something else.

Dh thinks that I'm rude no doubt.
Aibu to refuse it and sulk in my room? It's late here. I'm annoyed that he's let someone cook food I detest and I'll have to go find more food.

Sounds good. I hope they're happy together dh and my 'sister'.
I guess I just expect a higher level of care from my dh.
I don't loiter near Indian kitchens for long enough to gag or dry heave. It wasn't in fact me who mentioned any reactions like that. I said I hated it. It was like dettol.
Can't imagine many people would want to eat a meal near a dettol bath or near bleach. You probably won't die but it's not the most appetising smell to eat your frozen pizza as was suggested.

Thanks for clearing up clove v cloves. ☺

I've spoken to dh obviously. He claims he's sneaked cloves into a few meals and I expect lived to tell the tale.
This one unfortunately reminded me too much of the curry I made when we were dating and I bit into a crunchy clove. The taste of insence stick is forever etched upon my mind.

I'm glad people thought it was made up. I don't know why I'd choose such a mundane topic but if you don't believe people like me exist then unfortunately we do. Keep an open mind.

I had a pie for dinner tonight. It had cheese in it. I wretched at that because it tasted foul. I'm not usually picky or so precious. I can't help it. Like other people can't help a reaction to something. Be thankful you're not bothered and less 😏 Bert

DH was being PA... beans on toast for him for the next few weeks? Does he respond better to - actions (or lack of actions) than words? Just wondering.
Clove wars? (Sun is getting to me). What does he dislike?

FeliciousM · 20/07/2016 14:36

But this isn't you and your situation. The HG is supposed to be cooking for everyone yet puts in an ingredient so that only her and the DH can eat it....sounds suspect to me....esp the conspirital giggles. In your situation flatmates have to give and take.To demand special treatment is not right but it's also not right to deliberately make someone feel sick.

FeliciousM · 20/07/2016 14:45

I pity those who come on Mumsnet looking for sympathy for whatever size problem they may.You are a huge bunch of cunts and im sorry nothings changed. Are all those crying "dramaqueen" so ostracized in RL for being the bitches they are that they have to come online and troll people who are already obviously upset?Hope you are OK OP.You deserve nicer people.

TheCatAteMyHomework · 20/07/2016 15:04

It's OK Felicious. 😂 I knew aibu would be harsh. I raised an eyebrow or two over comments regarding dc but other than that I'm pretty robust.
People just enjoy telling someone they're a knob on aibu threads. Today it was me. Tomorrow it'll be someone new.
I called them a pillock so I got rid of my rage.
I'll find the recipe later and post it for those who want to eat the curry.

TBH, your tone throughout the thread is one of quiet loathing for your DH, so I don't see why you would expect this?

DoinItFine · 20/07/2016 15:45

Why should a womsn expect their husband to be nice to them? Hmm

Yes, the very idea.

You don't have a job, so your place is to bow a scrape and put uo with his cruelty.

Horehound · 20/07/2016 16:13

Get that pissy toilet cleaned!

Oh the recipe is:

1 jar of curry sauce
1 Clove
Chicken
Rice.

:)

MangoBiscuit · 20/07/2016 16:13

Blimey, harshest thread I've seen in a while. Op, I'd have been pissed with DH if he'd done something like that. It's deliberate and shitty, and put your guest in a horrid position. What a dick.

@NedStarksHead Grin you're the reason I read this thread
