To report druggie headteacher neighbour?

I know this sounds like a fake Daily Mail story but honestly it's true! Would love some objective opinions.
My next door neighbours are a couple in their 50s with 2 20ish year old sons. We have had major fallings out over their parties (till 4am regularly) and reported to the council, so parties have died down. They have all regularly smoked weed (day to day) and done laughing gas (at parties). We can see this over our fence as they are always in the garden.
My DS1 has asthma and we can smell the weed in our house. We have told them to stop but they continue. Now looks like they are growing weed (see photo). Her husband doesn't work and smokes weed all day, which obviously has an impact on how we use our garden.
I'm a teacher too and am sick of this woman's hypocrisy of being a head teacher in local primary school. Teachers have to follow the standards which includes upholding the law.
I know this is now a personal vent but I am so angry with the years of noise and drug taking that I kind of want her to suffer too Blush
Anyway, do I shop her to the school governors? Maybe call 101? Or live and let live and look forward to when we can afford to move?

I want to know how the op got the picture.

Noisy neighbours are a royal pain and I think you should be reporting them as you would do anyone else. I think that bringing her work into this is not the best thing to do really.

OP - I'd be going down the route of tackling the noise nuisance. Keep a noise diary and report it to your local council.

I need to know more about the laughing gas.

Have you seen them using it, or just heard them laughing a lot?

Capricorn76 · 11/07/2016 22:44

OP I sympathise and I'm a bit pissed off with people laughing at you. I have a friend who lives next door to a family where the teens smoke weed constantly. It seeps through the walls and makes their house stink. The have a young cold and worry what damage may be caused.

It's not funny and I'm sure if some of these people had to live with it they wouldn't be laughing.

Nobody would complain if a neighbour smoked the odd spliff but constantly smoking weed until it's making your own house and things stink is not on. I'd be having a word and if they didn't listen I'd be going to the police.

MilesHuntsWig · 11/07/2016 22:55

I also think OP is getting a raw deal here tbh.

Iflyaway · 11/07/2016 23:05

Not sure what that photo is.... Did your neighbours invite you in to take a picture of their marijuana plant? Hmm

Lot worse things going on in the world UK in meltdown due to Brexit than some funny plant-based non-sewage smell.

If the problem is noise, just phone the police. Every time.

whoyougonnacall · 11/07/2016 23:55

Thanks to everyone who gave constructive advice.
I'll keep reporting noise to council. We have asked them numerous times to stop smoking weed, they won't. They all smoke weed continuously while they are at home, not the occasional spliff and not just the husband / sons.
Mumsnet did not ask if I could be put in classics and just joined in the piss taking. Think I'll be off.

Good luck OP, sorry some people have been so insensitive. Horrible neighbours can ruin your life. I hope you get it sorted. Flowers

DilberryPancake · 12/07/2016 21:34

I feel really sorry for the OP.

ParanoidGynodroid · 12/07/2016 21:38

Utterly shameful behaviour from MN in this case.

Fomalhaut · 12/07/2016 21:50

Op, your environmental health team should have out of hours staff/call out teams and they can leave recording equipment if it's warranted.
You've had a rough ride on this thread, rather unneeded in my opinion. Bad neighbours can make your life hell. Flowers

lljkk · 12/07/2016 21:51

yeah... but the zebra dog IS funny. Grin

I don't understand how the neighbour can be a HT and smoke weed all the time at home. I thought being an HT was a very demanding job. Something doesn't add up.
