Ex leaves 3 year old in car at petrol station. AIBU to be livid?

DD has just told me that daddy always leaves her in the car when he goes in to pay for the petrol.
Can think of a few 'what if's' which might seem extreme & ultimate feel fucked off at his negligence. AIBU to feel this way? Or am I just OTT?

DancingDinosaur · 03/07/2016 11:24

Hmm OTT

GruffaloPants · 03/07/2016 11:25

Seems OTT if she's buckled in. More risk of being hot by a car crossing the forecourt than being engulfed in an explosion.

gobbynorthernbird · 03/07/2016 11:25

You're OTT. DC probably much more likely to get hurt walking on the forecourt.

bluenailsblueshoes · 03/07/2016 11:25

Completely ott, I have always done this, much safer than dragging them across the forecourt.

DextersMistress · 03/07/2016 11:25

Definitely OTT.

SouperSal · 03/07/2016 11:26

Off the wall OTT.

gamerwidow · 03/07/2016 11:26

OTT it's more dangerous to take them across the forecourt than to leave them strapped in and in view for a few minutes.

OnionKnight · 03/07/2016 11:26

Batshit OTT.

Kerberos · 03/07/2016 11:26

Wildly OTT

goadyfuckersgetmygoat · 03/07/2016 11:27

It's more dangerousness getting them out. Full on ott

ICanSeeForMiles · 03/07/2016 11:27

Massively OTT. I've never taken my dc in to pay for petrol.

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 03/07/2016 11:27

Way OTT. I always did this with dd, 99% of other parents seem to do this from what I see.

Euripidesralph · 03/07/2016 11:27

Totally ott whilst I understand that it's a hot topic in parenting and many disagree on whether to do it or not you're completely overreacting calling it negligence

Frankly get a grip

MrsSpecter · 03/07/2016 11:27

Yes YABU. And ridiculous.

Stiddleficks · 03/07/2016 11:28

Very OTT, far safer in the car.

JudyCoolibar · 03/07/2016 11:28

There is nothing negligent about this.

Misnomer · 03/07/2016 11:29

Yep, OTT.

OutsiderInTheGarden · 03/07/2016 11:30

If she's buckled in and the car is locked I don't see the problem. He can, presumably, see her the whole time. I do this with my DS and he's much younger than your DD.

Abraiid1 · 03/07/2016 11:30

YABU.

Cookingongas · 03/07/2016 11:31

Ott. These aren't the battles you should chose to fight with ex

honeylulu · 03/07/2016 11:31

I do this (if I can't pay at pump). I can see the car the whole time.

DameXanaduBramble · 03/07/2016 11:31

You are more OTT than a very OTT thing.

Yes, you are OTT

CathemeralChild · 03/07/2016 11:32

I have always left DC in the car when paying for petrol.
What do you think might happen?

Numberoneisgone · 03/07/2016 11:32

This comes up all the time. There will be many coming on sharing your view in a while, don't worry, but I think what your ex is doing is fine.

MidniteScribbler · 03/07/2016 11:32

WTAF? Do people really think about this sort of shit?
