I voted Leave but don't deserve abuse for it !!!!

AmyWatt1972 · 24/06/2016 20:57

Yesterday I voted to leave after months of thought about all the main issues regarding membership.

I decided to leave based on sovereignty, I don't want a closer EU/United States Of Europe. I don't want my son to be in an EU army.

Immigration and economics for me were lesser issues. But still influenced my vote.

The names on here and Twitter that have been directed at leave voters has astonished me.

I am not uneducated, racist or xenophobic. I simply want the best for my country and that IMO is leave and I am overjoyed with the victory today against all odds.

Maybe if those on the remain side looked more into the arguments instead of name calling it would have been a different result.

It shocks me that labour supporters on Twitter are saying these horrible names against leave voters, but they need us to get their seats in the north, I don't think it is a good idea to insult your own base.

Even on mumsnet rhetoric has been appalling, I have had posters say they can't bring themselves to speak to leave voting parents.

Why can't you just accept maybe that leave possibly has a better campaign/arguments.

This idea that many leave voters regret the vote is wrong, everyone I know who voted leave is in a joyous mode today.

Can we just move on now and accept the result instead of insulting 52% of the population.

manc why should OP have to explain to you?

crossparsley · 24/06/2016 21:40

And you will still be held in disdain by a lot of us. But flags!

bloodymaria · 24/06/2016 21:41

Where can I sign up to the EU army?

Teddy1970 · 24/06/2016 21:41

My friend was all over FB yesterday, talking about her vote being rubbed out and MI5 rigging the result, she was a prolific poster and an ardent brexiter (it got on your tits after a while) I've not heard a dickie bird from her in 24 hours now...I wonder why? She's been on fb today and liked a couple of things but you'd think she'd be shouting from the rooftops wouldn't you? I know she didn't want Scotland to leave the UK last time, so it might be dawning on her that the UK has signed it's own death warrant..too late now though!

echt · 24/06/2016 21:41

Maybe if those on the remain side looked more into the arguments instead of name calling it would have been a different result.

So are you saying that remain is essentially right?

fastdaytears · 24/06/2016 21:41

It's fair enough to ask the OP about her reasons when she's said it was done for the economy.

UnderTheGreenwoodTree · 24/06/2016 21:42

Sorry OP, I think you deserve a bit of abuse. This is disastrous. Look at the chaos the Leave vote has caused - and by all accounts, a load of you don't fully understand what it is you were voting for. The 'protest vote' Hmm

The Leave campaign has lied in the most cynical, heinous way. You won't get £350m extra on the NHS. So, yes, YOU FUCKED UP.

TheLittleFoxes · 24/06/2016 21:42

There is no EU army.

There is, however, NATO and the UN. Both of which the UK remains a member of.

AmyWatt1972 · 24/06/2016 21:43

I also voted out for security it is clear that the EU is bad for our security, look at all the terrorism in France Germany and Brussels.

OP posts:
bloodymaria · 24/06/2016 21:43

Urgh, such goady-fuckeryness. OP if you stand by and are confident in your decision yesterday, then suck it the fuck up.

babybythesea · 24/06/2016 21:43

I also heard Mark Carney talking about putting aside £250 billion from the Bank of England to help the market if the economy crashes. If the economy crashes to the point that we need a £250 billion bail out, we are in deep shit. No-one will have anything. There won't be any money for a welfare state, or an NHS, and the least of your problems will be a few refugees. And I can't see a single Brexiteer acknowledging this.

Hamishandthefoxes · 24/06/2016 21:43

It can get so much worse. So so much worse.

Bogeyface · 24/06/2016 21:43

You have fucked a nation and sold your children, and their children, down the river.

Please provide proof of this statement.

I would like anyone who is so sure that this country is fucked provide proof, not opinion but actual solid proof, that is the case.

We will never forgive. Or forget
I hate to tell you this, but you are not so important that I actually give a shit that you will never forgive me or other Leavers for voting as we choose, which is our democratic right btw, in case you have forgotten.

2moreminutes · 24/06/2016 21:43

It's obvious to me that Amy is in actual fact a Remainer , pretending to be a not very bright leaver.

It was funny for a while.
But time to give it a rest 'Amy'

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 24/06/2016 21:44

OP, judging by your most recent posts, I don't think you're actually in this for a serious discussion, are you?

You appear to be only making needling statements and not engaging with any responses.

Are you just a bit bored?

BadMum1705 · 24/06/2016 21:44

I voted leave

The decisions been made, now we have to deal with it.

Name calling is just pathetic imo

Hamishandthefoxes · 24/06/2016 21:45

I don't expect you to care Bogey, but equally I'm not going to help you if you are shafted by the result. I'm looking after mine now.

MrsSpecter · 24/06/2016 21:45

Ugh. Twat.

Bogeyface · 24/06/2016 21:45

OP if you stand by and are confident in your decision yesterday, then suck it the fuck up.
She doesnt have to suck anything up! She exercised her right to vote, that should not come with a side order or verbal abuse. If anyone needs to "suck it up" its the Bremainers. You lost. Get over it.

Cubtrouble · 24/06/2016 21:45

If Scotland go and Wales go and Ireland goes surely England will be called errrrm England?

Whether or not OP asked for it the rest of you are internet bullying.

The people who decided to vote decided we should leave the EU by a majority. That is a fact. People who didn't vote and who now have an opinion need to think about that.

People do however need to calm the fuck down. I have no doubt there are police forces preparing for trouble, riots etc because of the shit slinging by people the likes of which appear to frequent this forum.

We ride the storm and see what happens.

ThatWasThat · 24/06/2016 21:45

If there had been a comprehension test of the implications that we we were required to pass before being allowed to vote, how many of us would have been eligible to vote?

PaulDacresMicroPenis · 24/06/2016 21:46

I'm loving these pithy little comments of yours op, obv I'm replying in the same style, but you're not acknowledging any of the detailed, considered replies you're getting. You are reading them aren't you?Smile

AmyWatt1972 · 24/06/2016 21:46

You can say what you want about us but at the end of the day we are on the right side of history.

OP posts:
emeraldlakes · 24/06/2016 21:46

You do now, because you've no idea what the consquences will be, but you will see soon enough.

That's the thing isn't it? Nobody knows for sure what the consequences will be now, just as nobody knew for certain if or how the EU may change in the years to come.

Both the Leave and the Remain campaign had little to offer in the way of actual facts. The OP voted leave legally in a UK referendum as did over half of the 72.2% turnout of voters. People will absolutely be upset and angry but it's simply no excuse to verbally abuse Leave voters.

echt · 24/06/2016 21:47

OP, you do realise, don't you that the most likely arrangement post-Brexit is that England will pay shitloads of money to keep in the single market, have no influence over the EU, and STILL have to accept all EU citizens as workers?
