I voted Leave but don't deserve abuse for it !!!!

Yesterday I voted to leave after months of thought about all the main issues regarding membership.

I decided to leave based on sovereignty, I don't want a closer EU/United States Of Europe. I don't want my son to be in an EU army.

Immigration and economics for me were lesser issues. But still influenced my vote.

The names on here and Twitter that have been directed at leave voters has astonished me.

I am not uneducated, racist or xenophobic. I simply want the best for my country and that IMO is leave and I am overjoyed with the victory today against all odds.

Maybe if those on the remain side looked more into the arguments instead of name calling it would have been a different result.

It shocks me that labour supporters on Twitter are saying these horrible names against leave voters, but they need us to get their seats in the north, I don't think it is a good idea to insult your own base.

Even on mumsnet rhetoric has been appalling, I have had posters say they can't bring themselves to speak to leave voting parents.

Why can't you just accept maybe that leave possibly has a better campaign/arguments.

This idea that many leave voters regret the vote is wrong, everyone I know who voted leave is in a joyous mode today.

Can we just move on now and accept the result instead of insulting 52% of the population.

User are you under the impression that all immigrants will now be booted out? Or that rogue landlords will suddenly stop being roguey? Or that zero hour contracts (which are unique to the UK and have nothing to do with Europe) will stop being a thing? If so, you're in for a very rude awakening.

Don't waste your breath Salmon Mumontherun obviously doesn't have children. She wouldn't have thrown away their futures so lightly if she did

speakergirl · 24/06/2016 23:22

IHaveHadHOWManyUsernames

Totally we are ALL morons. Ah well. Are you enjoying being on the losing side?

Alisvolatpropiis · 24/06/2016 23:23

Caravan I'm Welsh too and feel exactly as you do. Eternally grateful I live in one of the areas which voted to Remain though. I don't think I could cope with the unbearable stupidity that is the overall Welsh vote otherwise.

pillowaddict · 24/06/2016 23:24

YABU. Our children's futures are potentially fucked thanks to ill educated votes from people who have no idea what's to come. Note my use of 'potentially' and 'no idea' because that's the uncertainty and disturbing reality of where we are. Maybe things will improve economically in the future - in the meantime our children, and us, will live with the impact on education, jobs and general economic downturn that this will bring. Not to mention any friends or family not born in UK and the fear they are now living with regarding their place here. So, I don't apologise for being pissed off at leave voters. Sorry!

allyjay · 24/06/2016 23:24

I couldn't give one tiny tit over leavers angst, and their hurt feelings. You've fucked up my country. That is all.

NoMudNoLotus · 24/06/2016 23:24

Do any of you that voted remain ,speak to your colleagues at work who voted to leave , the way you speak to people on here?

MumOnTheRunCatchingUp · 24/06/2016 23:25

wom

Don't waste your breath Salmon Mumontherun obviously doesn't have children. She wouldn't have thrown away their futures so lightly if she did

I voted fucking remain you fool!!

Sick of the whiners and drama....

FreshHorizons · 24/06/2016 23:25

Probably they are like me and shocked and appalled by what has happened to our country. I am not rude, but I could cry about what has been done to the futures of my children and grandchildren.

speakergirl · 24/06/2016 23:26

NoMudNoLotus I'm wondering the same but replace colleagues with husbands

LumpySpacedPrincess · 24/06/2016 23:26

Not too sure if we can dictate what happens in Calais anymore user1466795781...

itsbetterthanabox · 24/06/2016 23:27

I'm on a zero hours contract on minimum wage.
I don't blame immigrants for this. I blame the government for not enforcing the minimum wage for all and for allowing companies to abuse the use of zero hours contracts.

TooMuchCoffeeMakesMeZoom · 24/06/2016 23:31

I really can not be bothered to read the whole thread.

You voted to trash our economy, trash seventy years of cooperation not war and to vote on some utterly ignorant view of what sovereignty actually means.

Well thank you, you utter tosser, for trashing my children's future.

We have so much less control over our future today that we did yesterday because of your views.

I'll not apologise for thinking you don't deserve a hearing.

Cleo1303 · 24/06/2016 23:33

What nasty people some of you are. When Remainers I met while canvassing lost the argument they would throw out insults so the tone of this thread is hardly surprising.

Thousands of people were genuinely concerned about their livelihood, just like the fisherman who sailed down the Thames but most of the people on here seemed to have supported Geldof and the Champagne Socialists mocking them.

The whole corrupt EU will collapse within five years anyway. It's better that we are the first to go. We will lead the way for other countries where a majority of people also want out.

And just on a personal note, I am delighted that we are Brexiting for the sake, and the safety, of my child.

speakergirl · 24/06/2016 23:34

Our children should enjoy the decline

I'm sorry I'm really bloody angry now (after wine) but I do think brexiters are thick, stupid, xenophobic and racist. And I don't care if I hurt your sensibilities. I almost can't wait for the weeks and months to come as this becomes clear.

MumOnTheRunCatchingUp · 24/06/2016 23:38

lol why ally what you gonna do?

Salmotrutta · 24/06/2016 23:39

MumonTheRun - umm, you voted remain?

OK then, I certainly didn't pick that up from:-

God, I'm so glad we are out. Only wish the sore losers could go too

My apologies.

speakergirl · 24/06/2016 23:40

allyjay I am sorry for being thick, stupid, xenophobic and racist. You forgot I am also bigoted, hateful, nasty, evil, bitter.... the list goes on

ghostyslovesheep · 24/06/2016 23:41

so you side with people advocating 'bombing Islam' then Cleo? and stopping immigration with armed police and guns?

Just in case you missed the deleted posts

I'm glad you did what you thought best - I am interested in what future you see for your child - my teenagers where upset today and angry they couldn't vote - they worry about the economic impact, the effect on jobs and opportunities, the chances of owning a home if interest rates rocket and the housing market collapses (seriously - they do!)

But maybe a 10 year recession, a loss of workers rights and the decimation of our economy is a good thing?

MumOnTheRunCatchingUp · 24/06/2016 23:42

That's correct salmo

Bad attitude of remainers. Horrible. As was said previously, it's showing the true colours now

Remain was the lesser of the 2 evils. Slightly

horseygeorgie1 · 24/06/2016 23:42

Complete vile on this thread.

This is a democracy. Everyone has the right to vote in whatever way they think is the right way forward. It is not for the rest of the population to judge their point of view. Everyone is entitled to not only have an opinion, but cast a vote representing it and that right should never be disrespected. Your bile SHOULD be directed against the people who allowed this to happen, if that is your viewpoint.

I have seen some terrible, horrible insults levelled at 'leave' voters today. All it does it make the 'remain' camp look like sore losers.

Normandy144 · 24/06/2016 23:43

You voted to leave and knowingly mess with people's lives. Don't pretend you don't understand what you have done. Don't ask people to spare you or feel sorry for you.
