Husband, ex military man appropriately named dick, did a lot of telly in the early noughties about engineering projects, and living green etc. Involving all his family.

Seems he's had a mid life crisis and is now with a young cockney vintage person called Angel, has started a second family and is now living with her and youngsters in France in a ruin d chateau allegedly bought for. 280 k with 12 acres and a renovation budget of 20k.

All lovey Dovey. Constantly nose bumping etc. Decorating the honeymoon suite. And Lo! Her parents have arrived to live with them ( and no doubt contribute to the budget.)

All feels very yuck.

I think Dick and Angel are amazing so inspiring and so hardworking. They come across as warm and friendly and genuine people. I love watching Escape to the Chateau.

Kyle2005 · 03/07/2018 22:49

I really don’t get why your all been horrid to this couple . Relationships break down , we move on. I like this couple and they seem happy , both are very entertaining and I like my children to watch what hard work can achieve, rather thean the likes of others on tv that think if the go into an island and try and date or in a house and try and date etc . Give the hard working couple a break

CrumbsInBed · 06/07/2018 08:32

We love Escape To The Chateau 🇫🇷 and cant understand how people be be so negative about Dick and Angela.

I agree with another poster that they come over as warm, friendly and genuine, and I am hoping to see more series in the future.

DonDrapersOldFashioned · 11/11/2018 21:17

Why is this in trending when the last post was in JULY?! MN you have a bloody weird algorithm.

RueDeWakening · 11/11/2018 21:27

On telly tonight innit.
:o

KC225 · 11/11/2018 21:54

Yeah, this is the thread that keeps on giving. Did anyone watch it? Was it a good one? m in Sweden and will truffle about on you tube to see if I can catch a glimpse.

DonDrapersOldFashioned · 11/11/2018 22:02

Ahhhhh Rue makes sense. MNHQ clearly love this little boomerang thread.

I didn’t watch it, KC

KC225 · 11/11/2018 22:04

Why DonDraper you are a tease

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 11/11/2018 22:08

The thread that wont die!

GirlFliesHome · 18/11/2018 20:31

This thread was started 2 and a half years ago.

Why? Just why?

prh47bridge · 18/11/2018 20:43

another one who has NO IDEA what / who you are talking about

The OP is talking about Dick Strawbridge - ex-army, now a TV presenter, engineer and environmentalist. He and his first wife, Brigit, divorced in 2010. In 2015 he married Angel Adoree having had two children with her. She is around 10 years younger than him.

I have no idea why the OP thinks the first Mrs Strawbridge needs sympathy, nor do I know why she thinks Dick Strawbridge has had a mid-life crisis.

Hassled · 18/11/2018 21:15

Why does Angel go shopping for storage solutions in Paris with her young daughter while they are both wearing kimonos? Why? Why would you do that?

pootlepootle · 18/11/2018 21:23

because she wants to?

Hassled · 18/11/2018 21:27

Well I get that she wants to, and that's obviously fair enough. But I've never shopped for storage solutions in a major city wearing a kimono, and I lack the imagination to understand why someone would want to.

CandleWithHair · 18/11/2018 21:30

How does this thread end up trending every weekend when there’s a new episode on despite no one posting?? How is that ‘trending’?

Hassled · 18/11/2018 21:34

Trending because people are searching and reading the thread without necessarily posting. Lots of trending threads have relatively few posts - it's down to clicks rather than posts.

KC225 · 18/11/2018 21:45

I am so envious - I'm in Sweden and can't watch it - Dorothy in Paris in a kimono - how sweet

DonDrapersOldFashioned · 20/11/2018 09:25

Hassled, I often go to IKEA in my dressing gown. Grin

TansyViolet · 20/11/2018 10:07

Maybe she made the effort to dress up while shopping as she was going to be on TV. Perhaps when the cameras are off she shops in Aldi wearing penguin PJs and slippers.

Sparklingbrook · 25/11/2018 20:46

It feels like the same episode every week. I think short of actually staying there we have seen it all.

puppy23 · 25/11/2018 20:50

I love what Angel's done with the pressed flowers on the wall

GerdaLovesLiIi · 25/11/2018 21:33

Why won't this thread die?

Sparklingbrook · 25/11/2018 21:36

Because the programme is on every Sunday?

GerdaLovesLiIi · 25/11/2018 22:28

I suppose so, but it seems odd to continue to discuss the 2nd Mrs Strawbridge on a thread started to show sympathy for the 2st Mrs Strawbridge. Understandable, but odd.

Scrapheap · 02/12/2018 19:13

I'm always torn with this programme. I worked with Dick a couple of years ago, his TV personality is interesting, but I found him a deeply unpleasant man.
