His face was a picture when Allison Pearson asked him to give it a rest, --put a sock in it, as all the men on the panel had their at turn at speaking and now 'she wanted to say something'
Priceless.

Also, why's he on it? He keeps butting in..

On the whole I'm agnostic about Eddie but he really didn't come across well at all on QT, IMO. I get the impression that he is too used to preaching to the converted, probably mixes only with people who hold the same views as him (whether by accident or design), and as such hasn't developed any debating skills. Which is to say, advocacy - put your arguments across in a measured and coherent fashion, seek to persuade rather than simply shouting over the opposition. (Mind you, there has been a lot of that on both sides on this particular issue.)

oliviabenson2 · 10/06/2016 18:48

Sorry Ego - I wasn't clear.
Yes I meant Allison Pearson (sorry went off on a tangent simply because I
found her so annoying

SpaceUnicorn · 10/06/2016 18:55

That's interesting, House - thinking about it, EI can hold an arena-sized audience completely rapt for several hours with his stand-up. When you're used to having the stage to yourself and having people hang on - and respond favourably to - your every word, it's possibly not conducive to a question/response debating style. He may well have some fantastic ideas, but if he wants to convey them effectively and pursue politics, he'd be wise to get some coaching on this.

But hey, we can't all be good at everything (except me, obvs Grin)

katemiddletonsothermum · 10/06/2016 19:16

You never see Eddie Izzard and Edwina Currie in the same room together, do you? Funny, that.

venusinscorpio · 10/06/2016 19:17

Perhaps he sees himself as non binary but uses transgender as the umbrella term.

JuanPotatoTwo · 10/06/2016 19:46

Is QT live? Eddie was on the guest list last night for a university leavers' ball.

Asprilla11 · 10/06/2016 19:49

JuanPotatoTwo QT is shot during Thursday daytime, early afternoon I think.

Tennessee- yes!!!!Grin Pillock Hmm

MythosLivetheDream2 · 10/06/2016 22:09

I've just watched QT.
I usually really like EI but he was awful! Didn't do the remain camp any justice.
The whole programme made me shout at the TV.
That last comment from one member of the public is really smarting. I am an EU migrant and I feel as British as French now. I love this country and really can't believe that people can think that we are diluting the British culture!!! Angry

ArcheryAnnie · 10/06/2016 22:54

Anyone who thinks immigrants "dilute the British culture" has no understanding of British history and how we got British culture.

charlstraw · 11/06/2016 00:27

Only just watched this on iplayer. Very disappointing show, not the usual standard.

bridgetoc · 11/06/2016 00:36

It lost the remain campaign thousands of votes. The BBC, being their usual biased selves have buried it!

SouperSal · 11/06/2016 01:20

This is so weird. I loved last night's show but usually tear my hair out at it.

Did I spend too long in politics? Confused

TennesseeMountainPointOfView · 11/06/2016 02:19

bridgetoc - what have they buried? If you mean EI's performance, they've got a clip of it on the main referendum page.

Spermysextowel · 11/06/2016 02:38

I did hope for some guidance. In the absence of anything that meant anything I got sidetracked by nails, beret, weird eyelashes, how one can inherit the same odd sibilant speech as your father, look like Homer (I may've got the wrong cartoon character here). Did think that Nige & Chris were less unpleasant to listen to, but I'm still none the wiser re which way is best.

MythosLivetheDream2 · 11/06/2016 07:51

ArcheryAnnie There is a brilliant Stuart Lee routine about UKIP and how the British culture evolved. I wish they'd had Stuart Lee instead of EI actually! I just can't believe they finished the show with this!

MythosLivetheDream2 · 11/06/2016 07:54

Here's the routine. It's brilliant!
