His face was a picture when Allison Pearson asked him to give it a rest, --put a sock in it, as all the men on the panel had their at turn at speaking and now 'she wanted to say something'
Priceless.

Also, why's he on it? He keeps butting in..

I wish they'd had Stuart Lee instead of EI actually!

I would love to see Stuart Lee on QT. He's incredibly sharp.

ginghambox · 11/06/2016 09:05

Im amazed Stewart Lee hasn't been on QT, he fits the guest profile perfectly,
unfunny, patronising, leftie "comedian ".

Sunnsoo · 11/06/2016 09:36

Some celebs have been good on QT. Charlotte church and Hugh grant, for example.

mummymeister · 11/06/2016 11:04

There are other programmes where celebs can give their political opinions. I just don't think it should be on QT that's all. After years of being an avid viewer, I am going to be turning it off from now on if there is a sleb on the panel. slebs don't attract viewers, they make people turn off. EI was on only 4 weeks ago. who at the bbc thought it was a good idea to get him on again so soon? grayson perry? what was that all about.

I want to hear the views of people who have the ability to change things - because they are politicians, union leaders, business people etc. not comedians, journos, artists.

MitzyLeFrouf · 11/06/2016 19:07

I like the 'celebrity guest' element. Makes change from the blah, blah, blah party political broadcasts.

Limer · 11/06/2016 23:23

Just watched this. Eddie's such a typical luvvie. Getting so frustrated that the hoi-polloi aren't LISTENING to him! He can do gigs in 3 languages, he knows EVERYTHING.

The blonde fringy bit peeping out of the beret is a hairpiece, surely? Liked the nails though.

Choccybadger · 12/06/2016 00:38

Please, can someone tell me, is Eddie Izzard claiming he is transgender? And what does that look like for him? I honestly think I am lost with male presenting females, transgender pre-op, transgender will never op and I would like to understand out of interest, and to be educated.

GiddyOnZackHunt · 12/06/2016 01:48

I thought EI was a transvestite. Or more accurately picking at the range of clothing and adornments available in mainstream society without reference to sex or gender.
I can wear trousers, skirts, make up, no make up, DMs, stilettos. Why can't he? Mind you I'd draw the line at a beret of any colour :)

HelenaDove · 12/06/2016 02:58

Id really like to see Samuel West on there. He can more than hold his own. I wonder if hes ever been asked.

BusyLizzie12 · 12/06/2016 06:27

I agree with Eddie being a typical luvvie. I cannot stand a champagne socialist dictating to me how I should vote in the referendum when he has such a different lifestyle to me.

airforsharon · 12/06/2016 07:51

I have much respect for Eddie, his achievements, positivity and enthusiasm. But all he did on QT was make Nigel F look reasonable.

If he's going to seriously continue in politics (and he's said this is his aim) he needs to realise that less is more. People generally don't respond well to having 'facts' thrown at them, shouty style, at a hundred miles an hour, and get thoroughly cheesed off if others are constantly talked over. He needs to learn to rein it in.

GetAHaircutCarl · 12/06/2016 08:09

EI described himself as transgender recently in the Sunday Times (What I've Learnt column IIRC)

I don't still have the copy but he said something along the lines of I am transgender. I feel sexy in high heels.

I remember reading it and thinking that he should fuck right off.

Bolograph · 12/06/2016 09:15

I am transgender. I feel sexy in high heels.

That's about the intellectual depth you'd expect from a comedian, really.

Coming next, "Post-capitalist economies: universal happiness or the victory of the elite" as debated by the Krankies.

JugglingFromHereToThere · 12/06/2016 09:34

I feel wobbly in high heels. I am still woman.

I do like Eddie though and think he's quite wise and human on most of the fundamental issues involved here.

I also think there's often a lot of intelligence and wisdom in humour. The wisest people laugh a lot.

EmpressOfTheSevenOceans · 12/06/2016 09:44

EI gives liking heels (and in a Standard article, getting his nails done) as examples of his female genetics and thinks society is too hung up on what genitals people have.

Given that the Women & Equalities Committee are proposing that anyone should be able to legally change gender through self-declaration regardless of whether they have made or intend to make any physical changes, he appears to be in the right company for being a politician.

Eddie Izzard on Jeremy Vine sounded like David Cameron's ventriloquist's puppet the other day. Sadly I don't know if he was wearing the hat then. Maybe the hat controls his views?

Jeanibee · 12/06/2016 10:35

Eddie Izzard did himself no favours . He looked ridiculous sounded ridiculous . A total embarrassment .

gettingbythistime · 12/06/2016 10:42

He irritated the crap out of me and many of the audience too. Text book opinionted shouty luvie lefty. He wouldn't shut the fuck up. Made himself look a right twat

YourPerception · 12/06/2016 11:04

I very much admired EI and his determination running marathons.

The raspberry beret doesn't bother me.

EI is a gaslighter. He claimed recently he came out as transgender x I think 30 years ago. He described himself as a cross dresser or transvestite until Caitlyn Jenner came out and she received positive press.

I appreciate the BBC are trying to be more diverse with those on screen.

EI classes himself as a subset of male. His programme was called running man. Why the fuck is he being given a female's space rather than males place?

MrFMercury · 12/06/2016 11:14

He used to describe himself as an action transvestite, he had a whole routine about it.
I used to love him, I thought he was hilarious. My love affair started to wane after paying a fair bit to see him live and discover he was still mostly trotting out the same routines we'd heard years earlier (and paid much less to actually laugh at first time). I thought the marathon thing was amazing but somewhat irresponsible but since he piped up about Scottish independence and tried to manipulate the media coverage as mentioned up thread I've lost interest completely.

AlistairSim · 12/06/2016 11:20

I can't trust the views of someone without a grasp of basic biology. He describes himself as having "girl genes and boy genes". Hmm

EmpressOfTheSevenOceans · 12/06/2016 11:25

Given the BBC's unquestioning acceptance of transgender doctrine, they probably thought that having EI's "girl genetics" was just as good.

In their CBBC programme
I Am Leo, the BBC explained trans issues through the medium of boys having blue brains and girls having pink brains, and equated wanting to be a boy with not liking long hair and dresses... Hmm

YourPerception · 12/06/2016 11:33

I may consider a BBC complaint about this matter.

YourPerception · 12/06/2016 11:36

Link here ssl.bbc.co.uk/complaints/forms/?lang=en&reset=&uid=779075729 for anyone else is unhappy.

EmpressOfTheSevenOceans · 12/06/2016 11:37

I'm still waiting for a proper response from them on my complaint about I Am Leo.
