To think it's grim and lazy to piss in the shower

Inspired by another thread but not a TAAT.

I'm surprised how many people think it's OK and actually do it themselves.

And surely you wear a tampon in the shower if you're on?!

Nope.

Twinkie1 · 07/06/2016 15:55

With my pelvic floor at the moment pissing in the shower is the least of my worries!

Shitting I'd draw the line at but pissing 's fine.

I don't understand. Do you have a really light flow? Or does it just run down your legs?! Do you get it all over your towels?

Years ago my DS had a distinctive piss odour to him.
I wondered if he was having accidents as he really did stink!
I later found out that he'd been peeing in the bath and sitting in it as he was too lazy to get out and use the toilet.
Those of you who pee in the bath- the same will apply trust me! It's disgusting!

squoosh · 07/06/2016 15:57

Well it doesn't run down my legs or get all over my towels so maybe I do have a light flow! Wouldn't feel right showering with a tampon in.

IceBeing · 07/06/2016 15:58

umbongo wtaf? you wear a tampon in the shower? Why would anyone do that?

So my question is: Peeing in the swimming pool showers....okay or not?

I am a bit wobbly on this one...but if people are washing shampoo all over the place then I can't really see an issue - because the shampoo is WAY more toxic than the pee....and then it all goes down the drain anyway.

UmbongoUnchained · 07/06/2016 15:59

Ah ok. I would look like Carrie if I didn't wear a tampon. And I wouldn't want to get any on my towels.

UmbongoUnchained · 07/06/2016 15:59

ice I don't know anyone who wouldn't.

clicknclack · 07/06/2016 16:01

Squatting in a shower to pee is probably a lot better for your bladder than sitting on a toilet seat.

My rule is only if there is a handheld shower head to rinse with, so not in most hotel bathrooms where it is fixed to the wall.

Pollyputhtekettleon · 07/06/2016 16:02

Gosh I had no idea people do this! Don't care either way it just never occurred to me to do it.

saffynool · 07/06/2016 16:03

You've had this conversation often then, umbongo?!

avocadosweet · 07/06/2016 16:04

The manager of a homeless hostel said they have problems with blocked sinks because of people peeing in them. I can't remember why - salt maybe? Perhaps a shower is different though as there is so much water to wash it away.

Kpo58 · 07/06/2016 16:05

I've had to tell my DH off before for peeing in the sink. Angry

UmbongoUnchained · 07/06/2016 16:05

It's been bought up in conversation before yes.

CheesyWeez · 07/06/2016 16:07

I love to wee in the shower. Try it, if you wee standing up your bladder empties fully and you won't have to get up in the night / you don't get as many bladder infections! I have a repaired prolapse. Works for me, and for men too.

TheUnsullied · 07/06/2016 16:08

To the poster who thinks pee damages plumbing...what is your toilet attached to?! Confused

I can't bring myself to be bothered by peeing in the shower. I'd jump in the shower if I got peed on. No difference really.

Brushing teeth in the shower really grosses me out though and I can't definitively say why. Maybe because I find it unpleasant to brush using warm water? I find spitting really disgusting too and can only bring myself to do it in the bathroom basin, or the loo after I've been sick.

TroysMammy · 07/06/2016 16:09

YABU. I do it because as soon as I get in, even if I've just been to the toilet, I have to go again. I also believe that peeing in the shower on a regular basis got rid of my verucca.

MrsTerryPratchett · 07/06/2016 16:09

Haven't RTFT because I'm lazy. Just wanted to point out that most human innovation has been sparked by laziness. Laziness, particularly the evil 'lazy parenting' is pilloried now but laziness (and war, sex and hunger) have been the source of our greatest achievements.

Up with laziness, let's have a cheer (actually I'm tired; let's not).

Eliza22 · 07/06/2016 16:11

YABU.

Good grief! You wait 2 or 3 wees before a flush? It must smell delightful, in this unusually warm weather!

Wee, when it leaves the body, doesn't smell and is not "dirty". I see no problem with have a pee in the shower. It all collects in the same watepipe.

I'm more alarmed by snotty hankies and the like, being flushed into the water system. I had a friend once, who cut her toe nails over the loo. I've drunk bottled water for some time now.

wowbutter · 07/06/2016 16:12

This morning I peed in the shower, while brushing my teeth.
Had five minutes and needed all three tasks taken care of. Meh.

Eliza22 · 07/06/2016 16:12

Oh yes, and the urea in urine gets rid of hard skin!

seafoodeatit · 07/06/2016 16:12

YABU, as others have said - it's sterile and getting washed away anyway.
