I eat the yellow one in salads. Yum.

Mr. Red is delicious in stir fry or chicken pasta.

The stupid green one sits in my fridge going mouldy and making me feel guilty.

Lovely in stir fry, omelette and pizza

dannydyerismydad · 31/05/2016 19:44

I love them with pineapple. On a pizza. It's their only useful purpose.

KateBeckett · 31/05/2016 19:45

Ffs. Bastard. Not vastard.

Nairsmellsbad · 31/05/2016 19:45

Stir fried in a wok so it blisters, with some salt.

emotionsecho · 31/05/2016 19:45

I have red, yellow and green peppers in my salad, I like the contrast of flavours. Also use all of them in anything - no rules hereGrin.

DistanceCall · 31/05/2016 19:45

It's a basic ingredient in Spanish cooking. Spanish sofrito - the basis for most sauces - is onion, garlic, and green pepper. You can also add it to Spanish omelette (you fry it along with the onion and potatoes).

So yes, YAB hugely U. Grin

I agree with you I don't like it I honk it's bitter but it's DP's favourite.

Green is my favourite Confused

sadnortherner · 31/05/2016 19:47

I get a disturbing amount of happiness from finding a three pack with no green ones !

Utterly pointless things !

OhForCodsHake · 31/05/2016 19:47

Chargrill it and eat it slathered in olive oil and rock salt.

BennyTheBall · 31/05/2016 19:48

I love green pepper too!

We always have green pepper in creamed corn - delicious.

bookishandblondish · 31/05/2016 19:49

I made this at the weekend www.ottolenghi.co.uk/parsley-barley-salad-shop

Had to buy green pepper specially.

Lovely with the lamb shwarma.

sarahandemily · 31/05/2016 19:50

I agree - and even more annoying the three pack is often cheaper than buying one yellow and one red

MurphysChild · 31/05/2016 19:52

The green one is my favourite too, the coloured ones are best eaten raw but green is the one for cooking. Makes the best Thai curry, Indian curry, Mexican and stuffed peppers. I personally think the yellow one is the duff one.

MyNewBearTotoro · 31/05/2016 19:53

YANBU. I will eat the green one in curries/ chilli/ stir-fries etc as the cooking makes it just about bearable but I never enjoy it.

DebCee · 31/05/2016 19:54

It does make me unreasonably happy when the ASDA value bags of peppers are all red and yellow......

whois · 31/05/2016 19:54

No the green one is delicious in lots of things!

whois · 31/05/2016 19:55

As PP says the green ones are the best for curry

dizzytomato · 31/05/2016 19:55

I use them to make a big salad/vinagrete. I dice them finely with tomatoes, and onions, season with olive oil, salt, sugar, vingegar and either chopped corriander or parsely.

mommybunny · 31/05/2016 19:56

I just bought a single green pepper with the specific purpose of using it in a lovely cashew chicken dinner I made my family tonight. Before discovering that recipe (and realising that cashew chicken really does need green peppers - red ones just aren't the same) I used to seek out red and yellow ones only and let the green ones rot at the bottom of the fridge drawer.

LBOCS2 · 31/05/2016 19:56

Green ones are fine in shashuka.

DD likes red peppers though so I just buy a three pack of red ones :)

bluebelle2662 · 31/05/2016 19:57

Green peppers are rank! Even Nigella says so Halo

ThomasHardyPerennial · 31/05/2016 19:57

Green peppers are the only ones I like! I think red peppers are gross.

IWasHereBeforeTheHack · 31/05/2016 19:57

Send me the green ones, they're my favourites. Love 'em raw.

We mix green and red in chilli -very colourful.
