To ask how often you wash your hair?

Now, I shower every morning and sometimes have a bath in addition (as a luxury) in the evening. But I only wash my hair twice a week. Which I thought was pretty normal and acceptable until it came up in conversation with a friend who had a look of barely concealed horror. She washes hers at least every other day and thinks it's poor personal hygiene to go more than two days without clean hair.

Perfectly fine with being called a scuzzy grunge pot (I really don't think I am!) but curious to know which of us, if either, you think is BU.

Every 2 days, but wish I could go longer. Never been able to. My mum does it once a week which is too long and really greasy by end.

I wash my hair every day in the shower as it's short and I look like a scarecrow in the morning. I would love to only wash it every other day or even less.

A question to those who wash theirs every other day but still shower, do you get your hair wet in the shower even if you are not washing it or do you wear a shower cap?

Everyone's hair is different. I have to wash mine every morning because it's short, fine and limp. It looks greasy if I do it the night before and sleep on it even.

Plenty of friends more folicularly blessed than I can go days and days between washes.

I wash my hair after a run and only then. At the moment this is 3 or 4 times a week. If I am not running due to injury or laziness it will be 2 or 3 times a week. DH has not washed his hair for 25 years!

Every morning in the shower. Its not about my hair really, I just don't feel awake until ive stood with my head submerged under a stream of hot water!
I mostly twist in in a clip (very long hair) and let it dry naturally throughout the day. No ones ever commented on my damp hair at work!

Twice a week at most. Probably ends up as being once every five days? I used to be able to go two weeks without it getting greasy but as my hairs getting healthier it gets greasier quicker

Every day. It's really greasy if I don't, plus I have a toddler who's always grabbing it with sticky hands. I let it airdry and don't straighten it so it's always shiny and in good condition.

It totally depends on your hair! Some people's looks greasy after a day, some people's still looks fine after 5 days. I'm happy mine falls into the latter category.

But I used to swim daily when I was young; I couldn't wear swim hats as I'm allergic to latex so kept it short and washed it twice a day. So daily is less…

Thankfully it did no harm. I still have loads of hair, grows like a weed and its in good condition. I've got blonde highlights and my hairdresser jokes that I'm paying for her holiday, I can barely make it to 6 weeks.

As infrequently as possible. I tend to do my fringe every couple of days if it's greasy. The rest of it probably every 4-5 days after a hairdresser friend did shock face when I told him I washed it every other day.

I'm gonna try no-poo over the summer holidays though.

I wash mine every day because others it looks like its been through an oil slick! DD can go seven days and it still looks like it has just been washed!

I would like to wash it every day as I prefer how it feels freshly washed but we currently don't have a shower and I can't stand washing my hair in the bath as I just feel like I'm washing all my body grubb into it. So its a jug over the bath jobbie which is a pain! !!! So currently it's 2-3 times a week, occassionally more if I'm able or have a particular reason to need it done.

Shower is installed in a fortnight, I can't flippin wait!!!!

Loopy, no he has a good head of hair for his age! He insists this is nothing to do with genetics. No, it's because he never washes his hair.

My hair is very fine and looks greasy after even half a day. Thanks to the wonder of dry shampoo i can usually stretch it out to two days- but only if I don't have to meet any clients or any nice social occasions!

People who wash less, in my experience, can't smell their own skanky hair.

Once or twice a week, its very long and thick and so doesn't get greasy.

Every 3/4 days. I have to get up at 6am to wash and dry it before work and I prefer the extra time in bed.

I condition it every 2 days, but only wash it properly with shampoo and conditioner every 7-10 days, as it is very curly and dry.

Or different hair types. My hair would look like straw if I washed it every day. On the other hand DD's hair would look like it had been dunked in chip shop oil if she left it more than 2 days.
