worra you are right I just dont like the dresses they wore im not prudish about a leg or boob

ToxicBits · 24/05/2016 23:07

I must be one of the few people who actually likes amanda holden. I think she looks fabulous and too right I'd wear that dress if I had her figure!

Can't abide David Walliams though. He makes my skin crawl.

Chippednailvarnishing · 24/05/2016 23:07

Hate to break it to you, I don't think David has managerial skills Ego

Maybe you should just go the whole hog Worra and wear a bikini, after all summer is coming...

ArmySal · 24/05/2016 23:08

She's got the body for it, you can't see tits or fange, she looks good.

MistressMerryWeather · 24/05/2016 23:10

It's even worse when some posts a thread to have a pop at a woman's appearance then starts up about media pressure because they are getting their arse flamed for being bitchy. Wink

If you don't like the dress/hair/think they are desperate/whatever just own it.

But you're really part of the problem to begin with.

bakeoffcake · 24/05/2016 23:10

I do actually think it's a shame she wore that outfit on a family show. There's no need to be showing everyone you ain't got no knickers on.

But I saw earlier that she's in the DM sidebar if shame saying "she stole the show" so she'll be pleased with that. Just a shame women have to go knickerless to get in the pressHmm

BiscuitMillionaire · 24/05/2016 23:11

I agree that it's depressing, that there is such a stark contrast between the women, who are very obviously there because of their visual appeal / sexiness, and the men, who are not sex objects at all. I don't think Holden and Dixon are dressed like hookers, but definitely like barbie dolls. Like they have to look absolutely perfect, otherwise their opinion as a 'judge' is not worth anything. Can you imagine Simon Cowell employing an older normal-bodied woman as a judge? Never in a million years. (Older overweight man is fine, of course.) Or a black male, come to that.

At least on The Voice the men dress up and are sexy.

Sunnsoo · 24/05/2016 23:13

What were ant or dec wearing?

3dogsandacat · 24/05/2016 23:13

Ego is right.

The men are picked for their personalities first and foremost, whereas the women have to pass the looks test first. Everything else about them
is secondary.

How depressing if that?

MrsJayy · 24/05/2016 23:14

What is normal sized women?

PaulAnkaTheDog · 24/05/2016 23:15

Fucking hell. As much as I dislike Amanda Holden and dislike asking people if their jealous, I have to ask: Are you jealous? She looks pretty spectacular! Pains me to say it because she just grates on me.

Chippednailvarnishing · 24/05/2016 23:15

At least on The Voice the men dress up and are sexy

Maybe it would benefit men and women if people on shows like this were picked for their expertise, rather than their looks. The original panel on strictly weren't amazing looking, but they were experts...

BiscuitMillionaire · 24/05/2016 23:15

3dogs: exactly

ToxicBits · 24/05/2016 23:15

But amanda holden and aleesha dixon are knowledgeable in their own fields.

What can David Walliams bring to the panel other than hitting on all the men and insulting Simon? What makes him a better judge than them?

x2boys · 24/05/2016 23:17

She can wear what she wants but i,m sick of the fucking sight of Britain's got talent it's seems to be in itv whenever I turn it on and before it started they showed endless repeats of previous years totally misses point of thread Hmm

ToxicBits · 24/05/2016 23:18

I'm sick of it being "Anywhere but Britain has talent" tbh

3dogsandacat · 24/05/2016 23:21

But amanda holden and aleesha dixon are knowledgeable in their own fields.

True.
But they wouldn't have been invited onto the panel unless they were attractive as well as knowledgeable.

The men don't have to tick both boxes.

We still live in the dark ages.

manicmij · 24/05/2016 23:21

How on earth can anyone say either of the women would feel comfortable in their outfit? How do they sit down without offending folk? Yes they are adults and can wear what they like but surely there is a difference when on public tv. And of course the men don't show off loads of flesh, who would want to see it anyway, why do the women think we want to see theirs. Wear something appropriate for goodness sake and stop being a clothes horse for some ridiculous fashion designer.

AdrenalineFudge · 24/05/2016 23:22

They look great, more power to them imo.
But BGT needs to be cancelled. It really does.

VioletBam · 24/05/2016 23:23

God. Let's not knock other women eh?

FoxSticks · 24/05/2016 23:25

How on earth can you say that they wouldn't feel comfortable in their outfit manicmij? Unless your channeling them obviously

BastardGoDarkly · 24/05/2016 23:26

Sharon Osborne was a judge on xfsctor for ages. Mature, normal bodied woman.

BiscuitMillionaire · 24/05/2016 23:26

MrsJayy What is normal sized women?

Imagine a woman who has not had lots of plastic surgery and does not obviously spend a huge amount of effort and time on looking like a perfect barbie doll. You know, a normal woman.

WorraLiberty · 24/05/2016 23:27

The men are picked for their personalities first and foremost, whereas the women have to pass the looks test first. Everything else about them
is secondary.

I get that and that's an ongoing issue that's worth fighting for.

But it's a completely different issue imo, to women sitting round on the internet, spouting bile about how other women choose to look.

And then adding the cherry to the cake (often on other threads) by claiming women have body/image issues that are caused by men and the media.

Imo too much of it is caused by other women, who simply can't wait to slag them off for how they choose to look/dress.

Each to their own, is a good mindset to live by.
