because "he sees nothing wrong with it" Hmm

amongst other things that have pissed me off.. using the word retard, pushing our sons face into his ice cream for a laugh, and then calling me boring because i said any drifting in a car would have to be done on a race track and not the roads.

Feel like i'm living with a teenager.

He sounds a real catch. Not.

Oysterbabe · 21/05/2016 21:10

He does sound like a child.
I assume he has redeeming features?

BusStopBetty · 21/05/2016 21:12

No, you're living with a dickhead.

MySordidCakeSecret · 21/05/2016 21:12

huh.. unbelievably today at pizza hut a woman behind us approached us at the end to say our family was really cute! adorable in fact!

dont be so PC

MySordidCakeSecret · 21/05/2016 21:14

Hmm what's that in reference to the golliwog or the word retard? or both?

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 21/05/2016 21:16

Is AIBU really the place for this? Maybe Relationships would be better?

ilovesooty · 21/05/2016 21:17

PC? So you think golliwog pictures and using the word retard are ok, not to mention his other behaviour?

NewLife4Me · 21/05/2016 21:17

What would worry me would be if he acted like this in front of other people.
Fair game if you want to stay with an overgrown child but your children don't need to be associated with his behaviour.

MyAmDeryCross · 21/05/2016 21:18

It would help if you let us know if he has any good qualities, and his general attitude.

If not good I would say - massive twat

Pipbin · 21/05/2016 21:19

The use of retard and the goliwog picture are very much less than pleasant, but this: pushing our sons face into his ice cream for a laugh, makes him sound like nothing more than a bully.

LagunaBubbles · 21/05/2016 21:19

This is at least the third thread I've read today about someone complaining about their partners behaviour, why do people stay with these awful men?

SlowJinn · 21/05/2016 21:20

Why are you with him? Is he sweet and funny and kind and generous and loving and a good dad and amazing in bed? Because if he's not, then he's a prick.

Saying there's nothing wrong with posting a golliwog picture is a pathetic. It's not 1974.

QuiteLikely5 · 21/05/2016 21:21
Hmm
Costacoffeeplease · 21/05/2016 21:21

What was your reaction when he pushed your son's face into his ice cream? Did that happen more than once, how long ago?

seeyounearertime · 21/05/2016 21:22

LagunaBubbles

I agree.
Ots like the justify it by saying ridiculous things,
"Oh but he loves his kids"
Well done him for doing something he should do anyway. Let's ignore the fact that he behaves like a fucking dipshit 99percent of the time because he loves his kids.

The single thing that would stop dick he'd men being dick head men would be if no one went anywhere near them. [Grin]
But then I might be a dickhed man, depends who you speak too I guess

Penfold007 · 21/05/2016 21:23

Your partner pushes your son's face into an ice cream and you are worried about a 'golliwog'?

Blu · 21/05/2016 21:24

What possible reason is there to share a pic of a golli?

Pushing a small child's face into their ice cream for a laugh is really unpleasant.

Sounds like a teenager? NONE of the teens I know would do that.

MySordidCakeSecret · 21/05/2016 21:25

this all happened today, at pizza hut he told my son to put his face close to his ice cream for a picture, then pushed him down so he got it on his face.

To be fair 6yr old DS thought it was hilarious. I was furious and told him so. And i told him when we got back to never do that again.

He works very hard to provide and he's a very loving dad..and helps with housework.

OP posts:
MySordidCakeSecret · 21/05/2016 21:27

one of these stupid things going round facebook "how far can this gollowog go before facebook removes it"

I'm so embarrassed, i said to him i'll remove him from my fb as it's not the first time he's shared disgusting offensive things. It seems to be some of his new mates he's hanging round with.

OP posts:
Excited101 · 21/05/2016 21:29

If your son was laughing about it, it sounds like it was a joke they were doing together rather than malicious? Why would you use that as an example of him being horrible if he was joking with your ds rather than being nasty.

Lots of people don't see the goliwog as racist, I've seen lots of people sharing it on Fb.

The word retard is an obvious reference that no one should be using but some people using it not thinking about the actual meaning of it.

There must be much more to this op, have you discussed these things with him?

ilovesooty · 21/05/2016 21:29

Surely he hasn't decided things like that are appropriate just because he has some new mates? If he thinks racist symbols and disablist language are fine he's just a dick.

And the drifting while driving stuff is beyond the pale.

SlowJinn · 21/05/2016 21:31

He's got the maturity of a 14 year old (and that's actually insulting to a lot of 14 year olds). Why do you put up with his behaviour?

MySordidCakeSecret · 21/05/2016 21:31

well... it was a trick wasn't it. But i don't think it's acceptable behaviour whatsoever.

OP posts:
NewLife4Me · 21/05/2016 21:41

Hanging around with his mates?
I must be really old but is this what men do now, behave like bloody children?

OP, tell him to stop being a bloody teenager and grow up, he's a family man with responsibilities.
Does he go out with mates and get drunk because he works so hard?
