Summer country wedding. I put it to the jury - is this too bridal?

OP posts:

Ads for these dresses are now stalking me across the internet. Both have been discounted so I thought of the OP and hoped she hasn't bought hers yet.

I don't work for this company. But their adverts are the new penguin bollards.

Can you get rid of the ads by blocking tracking cookies?

I saw the skirt of this dress in The Kooples and the quality was very good. It looked it's price and reminded me of Isabel Marant. I assume the dress is the same.

YouSay · 13/05/2016 10:33

Also I would buy and wear it in a heartbeat. Most S&B mumsnetters love Next, M&S, Sea salt and Coast which is not to my taste at all.

YouSay · 13/05/2016 10:38

I saw the feather skirt I should say

NoSpamPam · 13/05/2016 10:44

250 quids for something that looks from primark!!
It's very casual looking and why the fucking do you want to wear anything white or beige or cream etc for a wedding.
So u uabu on colour style and price. And that side boob..

Bravada · 13/05/2016 10:46

I too think this is a marketing thread that has gone wrong, because everyone thinks the dresses are crap and cheap looking. The H & M one is much nicer.

Well, that's what you get! Unlucky, try paying for adverts next time.

greybead · 13/05/2016 10:57

Op I hope you are short if you are going to wear that navy dress. The model looks as though she is wearing a dress belonging to her 10 year old sister.

SaucyJack · 13/05/2016 11:38

I keep getting loads of ads stalking me now as well.

One of the models they use looks like that woman from The House Of Black And White who keeps hitting Arya with a stick.

GarlicShake · 13/05/2016 16:03

Can you get rid of the ads by blocking tracking cookies?

Absolutely! I'm using Ghostery and have no ads for overpriced & undersized dresses.

GarlicShake · 13/05/2016 16:07

She does rather, greybeard. I imagined it on a more normally slim young woman, and decided I liked it.

It'd look utterly hilarious on me! I'm not target market, obvs.

BackforGood · 13/05/2016 16:20

I know there are masses and masses of much nicer outfits you could get with such a high budget.
I thought the first one wasn't too bridal, but was too casual for a wedding, and, tbh, the second one is even more so - looks like a top to go over some leggings or jeans - nowhere near 'classy' enough for a wedding.

Why have none of the models on the Kooples website brushed their hair ? Confused

GarlicShake · 13/05/2016 17:01

I've invented a new hobby - procrastinating by normalising (Kooples models!) Here she is, less stretched and more tanned.

GarlicShake · 13/05/2016 17:02

Her arms are now abnormally long, as I couldn't be bothered to do that bit.

BrendaFurlong · 13/05/2016 17:25

The long Kooples dress is made from a fabric that I swear is the same print as a duvet cover my parents had in about 1981.

KeepingitReal2 · 13/05/2016 20:21

What a joke 250 pounds!

This is my summer wedding dress this year

wallybantersjunkbox · 14/05/2016 12:52

Op I actually pulled them out for a look at my local Kooples concession today (over invested) they are both lovely but the second one I preferred.

TheWindInThePillows · 14/05/2016 12:57

Keepingit ah, for the days I was young and thin and would have looked amazing that dress. I do like it but I question your wisdom in attracting attention to it on a national website, it's very distinctive and personally I'd rather not be wearing the same very distinctive dress as someone else at a wedding!

ScarlettDarling · 14/05/2016 15:42

it certainly isn't bridal. It's very casual though, more summer barbecue than summer wedding. And doesn't look £250 worth of dress to me.
