Summer country wedding. I put it to the jury - is this too bridal?

Why do the models all look so ill on that web site?

user7755 · 11/05/2016 18:45

Chuff me - £200 for that!? It looks like half the clothes on asos.

Are you sure you don't work for this company because ever since I clicked on the link I have been bombarded with their adverts.

wallybantersjunkbox · 11/05/2016 18:46

Love that one...very playful, no side boob Grin

I think you'll get more wear from that too...

user7755 · 11/05/2016 18:47

I though that Pearly, she looks like she should be playing the part of a young destitute woman with TB in call the midwife.

Jannrooo · 11/05/2016 18:48

Jesus and just saw the other posts suggesting that perhaps I'm doing indirect marketing for Kooples. Rumbled. Grin Grin

Not too bridal but waaaay overpriced IMO! I know that's not what you were asking though :P

I wouldn't have been bothered if somebody had worn that to my wedding but I was pretty chilled... If you're worried, maybe wear a coloured shrug with it? Then it wouldn't even be borderline

LupoLounger · 11/05/2016 18:52

This. Doesn't look like the exposure setting has done her skin tone any favours.

Crispbutty · 11/05/2016 18:53

sorry but it really is an awful dress that hangs badly, is too short, and looks like something on a sale rack in a charity shop.. possibly not helped by it being modelled by someone who looks homeless too..

Squiff85 · 11/05/2016 18:54

Not bridal at all, but shocked its £250! It looks very average, like something New Look sell for £20. Go for it if you like it /can afford it!

LoveFromUs · 11/05/2016 19:00

I don't like the second dress, sorry! and the model looks ill.

MrsTerryPratchett · 11/05/2016 19:27

At 250 quid a dress you would think they could afford to pay their models enough to eat.

user7755 · 11/05/2016 19:35

MrsTP

I know that I will probably be criticised for body shaming but your comment made me Grin Grin Grin

AuroraBora · 11/05/2016 20:32

It's silk. So not too badly priced. And silk is often lined with polyester as silk lined with silk can be static galore.

chickenowner · 11/05/2016 21:21

Does anyone else think that the model looks unhealthily thin?

chickenowner · 11/05/2016 21:21

Aah, just seen that some other posters thought the same!

LagunaBubbles · 11/05/2016 21:32

Might well be silk but I don't like it, but I'm not the one wearing it.

Falling270 · 11/05/2016 22:06

It's not bridal at all. Enjoy!

Gide · 11/05/2016 23:09

Both too short, both too casual. Looks like you've been to Asda for a food shop and saw something in passing that would be better suited to a day at the beach.

pearlylum · 11/05/2016 23:15

I agree gide. Too short, may look nice on a 5 year old, but far too informal for a wedding.

Somewhereundertheduvet · 11/05/2016 23:32

I don't like the second dress, sorry! and the model looks ill.

Ironically the model has dobrze tattooed on the back of her leg which is Polish for "Well" :-)

TheAussieProject · 12/05/2016 00:13

The second one is horrendous. Reminds me of an old cushion on an old sofa!

First one is not bridal, not too short if you have the legs that go with short dresses, I don't really like the crisscross at the frond it clashes with the volants. Quite a big armpit gap so might be difficult with underwear. Quite casual.

Damselindestress · 12/05/2016 00:30

I don't think it's bridal but I always steer clear of white and frilly for weddings just in case. Feather prints are popular so you could probably find something similar in a darker colour.

Iknownuffink · 12/05/2016 00:55

Nice enough dress, no way would I pay £250 for it.

GarlicShake · 12/05/2016 02:16

OP, I like your new choice. Did you go for the dark version, just to be non-bridal?

pretty in a mid 90s grunge type way - Yeah. I couldn't thing why all those nearly-dresses looked so familiar, then remembered I wore them in the 90s! I had some from Fenn, Wright & Manson. Because, weirdly, if you're wearing a relaxed sliver of a garment, fiendishly expensive fabric & manufacture save it from looking cheap.

I've just bought something similar in cotton jersey from Dotty P's. I'm so well-upholstered now, nothing looks like a relaxed sliver on me Grin

Show us a photo of you in your new frock when it arrives, Jan. G'wan!

WhereTheFuckIsMyFuckingCoat · 12/05/2016 02:48

If the post had been for a dress from say, marisota or simply be, I wonder if there would have been comments wondering if they paid their models enough for a weight watchers membership or a personal trainer?? Hmm
