Summer country wedding. I put it to the jury - is this too bridal?

Is it only me whose first thought was how painfully thin the model looked? The dress is OK, not my taste, a bit too baby doll at that length. The model is 5'9" though, so maybe not so short if you're average height.

MitzyLeFrouf · 11/05/2016 16:22

No self respecting Swedish born Paris dwelling goth architect would wear that dress. It's too twee.

LizzieMacQueen · 11/05/2016 16:24

OMG haven't come across the Koopies website before but look at this!!
!!!

wallybantersjunkbox · 11/05/2016 16:24

winterbiscuit I clicked on the HoF dress link and it speedily informed me that 5 people were viewing the dress...

...all nosey MNers! Grin

hellsbellsmelons · 11/05/2016 16:24

I love it and it's my kind of dress.
But....... Fuck me - £250!
Not a chance in hell.

Winterbiscuit · 11/05/2016 16:25

Grin Wally

nobilityobliges · 11/05/2016 16:26

I think it manages to pull off the twee with a bit of irony though. You couldn't wear it with your hair and make up done formally but I think that styled right it could just look pretty in a mid 90s grunge type way.

Winterbiscuit · 11/05/2016 16:27

This one's feathery and you save 80 per cent, it's down from... £6,190 to £1,238 Grin

LoveFromUs · 11/05/2016 16:27

I like the dress and you could wear it again, I don't know how people can complain about the price £250 is a good price for a dress like that, why buy one from H&M or Topshop? there is a chance that she may see someone else wearing it whilst out which is very common with high street shop clothes. OP buy the dress I'm sure it will look lovely on you.

FoggyBottom · 11/05/2016 16:31

Sorry, but it looks a bit cheap. Despite the price tag ...

Winterbiscuit · 11/05/2016 16:31

Long dress from The Kooples
I can't decide if this is nice or looks like a nightie?!

EponasWildDaughter · 11/05/2016 16:41

lizzy - a snip at £250. Again !

I hear harnesses (harnai?) are all the rage this summer Wink

DragonMamma · 11/05/2016 16:43

winterbiscuit having never heard of this brand before, I had a browse and saw that long dress. I really like it! I'd look like I was wearing a nightie in it, but if I had that 'look', I'd go for it.

OP - the dress isn't bridal at all. I don't think it looks worth the money, at all but it's totally up to you.

MitzyLeFrouf · 11/05/2016 16:44

Yes, they're a harness-essity.

Enkopkaffetak · 11/05/2016 16:47

Too short for a wedding. Pretty dress though however I think for something more casual.

Would not call it classy and elegant more just a pretty day dress.

LagunaBubbles · 11/05/2016 16:50

Is this some form of indirect marketing for an expensive dress shop?

Crossed my mind to!

MitzyLeFrouf · 11/05/2016 16:53

I doubt The Kooples are doing sneaky viral marketing on Mumsnet! Grin

HisNameWasPrinceAndHeWasFunky · 11/05/2016 17:09

You'd be surprised Mitzy!

You do know it's an actual occupation.

Twinkie1 · 11/05/2016 17:12

If it's indirect marketing its failed dismally considering most of think it looks like a cheap New Look dress and they want £250 Shock!

MitzyLeFrouf · 11/05/2016 17:13

Er, yes I do know it's an occupation but I doubt infiltrating Mumsnet threads is the aim of Kooples. Doesn't really fit with their brand profile. Boden perhaps.

WorraLiberty · 11/05/2016 17:20

I think the dress is lovely and very suitable for a wedding and the reception.

However, I think the price is a total rip off.

HisNameWasPrinceAndHeWasFunky · 11/05/2016 17:22

well the first time poster OP has never returned either .......
:)

Jannrooo · 11/05/2016 18:38

Grin I love mumsnet. Thanks all. Have decided to skip any potential "white dress" drama and go for this one instead.

Great if you like it.

I wouldn't pay 50p if I saw it in a jumble sale I'm afraid.
