Summer country wedding. I put it to the jury - is this too bridal?

Nothing bridal about it but 100% agree with above comments that it's not worth the money and looks rather blah. Not particularly special for the money.

You can do way better than that! IMO.

Runningupthathill82 · 11/05/2016 14:17

Not bridal whatsoever. Yy to it looking like something from New Look.
You could do a zillion times better for £250!!

JessieMcJessie · 11/05/2016 14:18

It's definitely not bridal. I think overpriced, and you can't even machine wash a silk dress so limited life, but if you are OK with quality for the price and you have very good, long legs and not a scrap of fat on your hips, go for it. But it's too short to look good without perfect legs.

But

EponasWildDaughter · 11/05/2016 14:18

I think to the casual observer at a wedding the one in profFJs link for £25 will look pretty much exactly like the £250 one. A short white dress with feathers on it.

I think the feather print is nicer in the more expensive one - but for £225 more? Is it worth it?

Firstlawofholes · 11/05/2016 14:19

Not bridal in the slightest but not dressy enough for a wedding - too short and flimsy IMO. And my instant thought was that it looks like something off the Tu rack in Sainsbury's...

LagunaBubbles · 11/05/2016 14:19

Why would you think its too bridal, its not remotely bridal? Confused

ProcrastinatorGeneral · 11/05/2016 14:20

Crap that's a nasty piece of trash the price. You could get a better tea dress from lindybop for about thirty quid, and given the up and down nature of the lindybop quality at times that is really saying something:o

KayTee87 · 11/05/2016 14:21

Not bridal at all but doesn't look like £250 worth of dress sorry!

nonicknameseemsavailable · 11/05/2016 14:21

was it only me expecting it to have lots of feathers? as in real feathers?

EssentialHummus · 11/05/2016 14:22

I am phobic about wearing anything white at weddings, so it's too bridal for me. If you're after a pretty tea dress type thing ASOS have loads for £25 - £45.

xandra588 · 11/05/2016 14:22

The dress is ok for the wedding but £250 is a little too much for that dress. However, your decision.

EponasWildDaughter · 11/05/2016 14:22

Not just you nonick Grin

Curlyblow · 11/05/2016 14:24

I've got something almost identical with butterflies on. Got it on high street (last year) for around £20 and wore to afternoon tea with girls.

I wouldn't say it was dressy enough for a wedding personally, unless just evening do. Please don't spend £250 on it!! You could get something amazing as PP have said for that from ted baker or coast!

Curlyblow · 11/05/2016 14:26

I was expecting real feathers too nonick, that being the only reason I opened the link!

Pinkheart5915 · 11/05/2016 14:27

It looks cheap for £250 I would expect better.
If you still want to buy and wear it, it's not bridal so ok to wear.

diddl · 11/05/2016 14:27

I was also hoping for real feathers!

Some thing fussy, frilly & feathery.

What a disappointment.

CozImQuirky · 11/05/2016 14:32

I was expecting a floaty version of something like this. I would say there are much nicer dresses you could get for that type of money or less.

WIBU to wear this to a wedding...?
LupoLounger · 11/05/2016 14:32

Here you go... bit.ly/1qdDvbQ

Too bridal though.

LaConnerie · 11/05/2016 14:35

I don't like it at all, and can't believe it's £250.

Much prefer just about every dress on the link from oriunda

Puffinsrock · 11/05/2016 14:38

I think you could wear it but I thinknof you're going to spend £250 you could get something A LOT nicer
That looks like something from new look for £25 not £250

blindsider · 11/05/2016 14:45

According to my FB adverts which have helpfully sprung up since I looked at that bloody dress is is £175 from Ecru??

Tightywalterwhities · 11/05/2016 14:47

I wouldn't, while it is not bridal looking white stands out so much in group photos you'll divert attention from the bride.

Also there are usually guests who hold very traditional views on wearing white to a wedding so you will probably get one or two dirty looks.

StarUtopia · 11/05/2016 14:49

Can't see how it's remotely 'bridal' (other than having background white on!)

but £250?! Get thee down to H&M pronto. There's one in there for a fraction of the price.

This looks really cheap and nasty to me - which it isn't. Which makes it a crime!

FrenchJunebug · 11/05/2016 14:52

overpriced.

LupoLounger · 11/05/2016 14:59

Tightywalterwhities Yeah - good point. Depends on how heavily accessorized you go I guess, but I reckon that dress might lose a bit it's appeal if you were dripping in hats and scarfs?
