I need some help! I get the same screen as Evans when I click on customise, so can't work out how to highlight. Am I missing something? Also - the Maui threads: I only caught the last one (something about choosing furniture). I'd bloody love it if someone could link to the original. I hate missing out on MN folklore, and I remember penis beaker AND bumsex. I even remember Cod.

Someone who really remembered Cod wouldn't bother mentioning penis beaker - they'd think that penis beaker was only last week (in relative terms).

Cod was just before my time. Everyone knew of Cod and spoke of Cod but I never witnessed her in person.

Why on earth wouldn't they? I wouldn't bother with citing Fruit Shoots etc now because it wouldn't mean anything to most people, but Cod was around with typos intact until a couple of years ago or so. Not a lot before the Penis Beaker idiocy. No reason to snit at someone who phrases things differently, let alone to pronounce in a lordly fashion that nobody on MN a long time would do X Y Z.

Rather than going to all the trouble of cancelling the cheque have you thought of not writing them one in the first place, and perhaps not even going to the wedding? Then they can unsend the email they sent you? That seems the most logical solution to me.
