This thread can't end there, it's not an episode of Eastenders!

OP posts:

To be honest I'm trying to put it behind me now. I know "Mrs Indiscreet" (she loves that Smile) told countless people about it all, including other ex-colleagues - hence the load of messages yesterday, all saying "so sorry to hear that", "don't let it get to you", "block her" and so on

I won't know if the "retired rich man" definitely had the email without calling him, and don't really know him well enough to do that out of the blue; however I'll fish if/when I see him again as it would be easier face to face

Lastly - and I really should go now - I loved the bit about my supposed "restrained Britishness". It might seem that way on here, but believe me you wouldn't have thought so if you'd seen me when the email arrived!!! Shock Grin

I thought the cheque had already been cashed?

bibbitybobbityyhat · 08/05/2016 14:15

Ah yes, TidyDancer's bridezilla was quite something else wasn't she? I bloody loved that thread. I think that one did make it in to Classics?

MrsNorrell · 08/05/2016 14:16

Am I the only one slighty hoping (and OF COURSE if OP and Retired sold his company man are happy in other relationships - not - ) would get together and sail sound sunny places on a massive yacht sending postcards to the ungrateful bride.

MrsNorrell · 08/05/2016 14:23

Honestly - do you think anyone will get to the bottom of - you have more money - I think you should give us more? What person does that ? On what planet? I'll leave it there because this has been a very amusing thread and such witty and sensible people. Loved it - thanks Mrs N x

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 08/05/2016 15:03

It's linked higher up, Bibbity but still appears to be in AIBU, not Classics. Although, as I remember it, there was at least one, if not 2, follow up threads.
Ah the Sylvanian family toys... Grin

iklboo · 08/05/2016 15:45

You should just send her a copy of Kanye's Gold Digger. Or have it as your ring tone for her.

winewolfhowls · 08/05/2016 15:49

I am actually guffawing at cancel the Czech

MozzieRocks · 08/05/2016 15:55

I have signed up so I could comment on this thread (I have been a lurker for years).

Puzzled so sorry this has caused you upset, but this has made a great read. Wine

CancellyMcChequeface · 08/05/2016 15:56

Blatant placemarking Cannot believe original OP still hasn't taken our advice and cancelled it!

AnnieNoMouse · 08/05/2016 16:12

Dear Puzzled
Rather than going to all the trouble of cancelling the cheque have you thought of not writing them one in the first place, and perhaps not even going to the wedding? Then they can unsend the email they sent you? That seems the most logical solution to me.

FraggleMountain · 08/05/2016 16:19

Littleallovertheshop · 08/05/2016 16:23

How do I find customise? Also, since you cant cancel the cheque, demand the money back?!

Palmreader · 08/05/2016 16:28

The cheque has already been cashed.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 08/05/2016 16:31

Little - see the big Talk at the top? Next to it is a drop down arrow, click on that and it will give you the option to go through to Customise. :

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 08/05/2016 16:33

Oops. Meant to be :) at the end there.

As an aside, I've just had a stroll down memory lane, reading the Gluezilla thread and discovered something mildly interesting - all the posts from AntlersInAllOfMyDecorating have been deleted. So, because I'm curious/nosey I did an AS and ALL of this poster's posts have gone. Deleted! Does that mean it was a troll? Not withdrawn, deleted by MNHQ because breaking Talk Guidelines.

Anyway, as you were.

Littleallovertheshop · 08/05/2016 16:33

Thank you thumbs, it's only taken me 2 years to finally ask someone!

clam · 08/05/2016 16:45

Quite a lot of posters had all of their posts deleted after Jeffery-gate last summer.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 08/05/2016 16:46

Yes clam, there were lots of "message withdrawn (at poster's request)" as well, I realised they'd be Jeffrey-related. BUT this one wasn't - the posts were all deleted for breaking MNHQ talk guidelines.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 08/05/2016 16:47

No worries, Little! :)

LookJustCancelTheCheque · 08/05/2016 16:59

Someone on the last thread said that she thought you had up to three weeks to cancel cheques... I don't see her on here as yet, though.

By the way, I was on the last thread but have namechanged. Don't know why; just felt like it. Wink Grin

unblock her; I want to hear what the classless mare has to say for herself

timelytess · 08/05/2016 17:02

Bearing in mind the cheque is cashed, it might be nice if the OP wrote another, and cancelled it just for us.

scaevola · 08/05/2016 17:05

"Someone on the last thread said that she thought you had up to three weeks to cancel cheques."

There's no time limit as such. You can't cancel it at all once it's been cashed. And some banks won't accept them if presented when more than 6 months old, even though in theory they last for as long as the account (from which they are to be drawn) exists.

LookJustCancelTheCheque · 08/05/2016 17:31

That's disappointing, scaevola.
