Haha yep just seen in BBC breakfast....hope you werent aiming for annonymity!

ToniWol · 11/05/2016 06:26

Also - not read the DM story but was the tatty fiver mentioned, or did Steph on BBC breakfast just out herself as a MNetter?

RidersOnTheStorm · 11/05/2016 06:50

On Sky news as well. Eamonn loves it. Grin

MrsHathaway · 11/05/2016 07:21

Thanks Yorkshire!

Little chance of MNHQ wanting to do that.

This has been withdrawn by MNHQ at the poster's request.

AugustaFinkNottle · 11/05/2016 07:29

What did Steph say on BBC Breakfast, ToniWol?

Bambambini · 11/05/2016 07:30

For all that the bride and groom were totally out if order - this public shaming that goes on has went too far. I don't like it at all. This Is real peoples lives here.

Lolimax · 11/05/2016 07:31

Omg Chris Evans just mentioned it. I nearly wet myself driving into work!!

magoria · 11/05/2016 07:36

On Eagle radio this morning too.

LagunaBubbles · 11/05/2016 07:40

It's on Heart Scotland radios Facebook page this morning.

InFlagranteDelicto · 11/05/2016 07:44

Just heard this on Chris Evans! That bride must be mortified!

slice · 11/05/2016 07:57

This just made the Chris Evans show!!!!!!!!!!! Grin

Lweji · 11/05/2016 08:00

Did they mention the cheque?

slice · 11/05/2016 08:01

I think 'its on the radio' may be the next 'cancel the cheque'!!!

greathat · 11/05/2016 08:03

Radio 2 suggested knocking 2 0s off the cheque. BUT its already been cashed Chris!

ToniWol · 11/05/2016 08:06

She just asked if the newspaper chap had seen the part where the poster had said she'd wished she'd given a tatty fiver. As I say though. I've not read the DM 'story' and have no intention of doing so I'm not sure if that part was C&P'd or not.

Seeyounearertime · 11/05/2016 08:06

jeez, i dont think there's any way that the B&G hasn't seen it by now.

TBH, i hope they're absolutely mortified, cheeky feckers.

BarbaraofSeville · 11/05/2016 08:09

Is Chris Evans outing himself as a Mumsnetter with the ironic 'cancelling/altering the cheque' comments?

A shining example of being careful what you put in writing and the powers of social media.

I always find it strange when people have difficult conversations by text/email when they should really be done face to face and here the grabby bride (and groom if he was in on it) has traded in avoiding a little initial embarrassement for potentially worldwide shame instead.

Especially as the OPs friend made sure that the initial email was made known amongst their circle of family and friends, so they all know that now the entire country is talking about her.

Bambambini · 11/05/2016 08:12

I wonder what kind of come back this could have for all involved. This could ruin friendships, cause rifts in families etc. Bit of a warning how a simple post can just get crazy.

wheresthebeach · 11/05/2016 08:30

I wonder if this will become the 'Gerald Ratner' moment for Mumsnet? By having such close links to the Fail I think they are attracting a different type of poster/member.

Initially they may be getting more traffic...but will people just drift away as the front page of the DM isn't most peoples idea of fun.

Of course the bride was out of order...but this level of shaming and publicity is just awful for anyone.

Lweji · 11/05/2016 08:33

The bride should have considered it before sending the email.

Any recipient could have gone straight to the DM.

Bailey101 · 11/05/2016 08:34

They're talking about this on northsound radio too - OP you're properly famous Grin

Lweji · 11/05/2016 08:35

Just waiting to cross borders.
I'll feign total ignorance. Halo

Redglitter · 11/05/2016 08:35

Was on the early breakfast show on Heart this morning too

Whisky2014 · 11/05/2016 08:37

Lol heard it on BBC radio 2. Chris Evans said is was the craziest story he'd ever heard on his show! (or something a long those lines).

Bailey - you in Aberdeen?
