I think the OP's drawing is great, very original. I would be well impressed with that at 6.

MardleBum · 04/05/2016 11:30

Actually Writer I see exactly what your son is telling us there.

I think it's entitled 'Naked kneeling woman with hands bound behind her back and face hidden.'

Look at it again.

PoppieD · 04/05/2016 11:31

U2 I love that! It very Francis Bacon-esque, very partial abstract as they say, almost uncomfortable to look at but keep having to look back as it as drawn to, v impressed!

Hurryup2016 · 04/05/2016 11:32

Love all your drawings. Splendide, that sculpture is stunning 😀

Thanks all. I actually though she traced it Blush but I've since watched her draw them.

claraschu · 04/05/2016 11:33

Brilliant picture OP. Really unusual and interesting.

AFingerofFudge · 04/05/2016 11:34

OP I'm impressed by a 6 year old doing that. My 7 year old can just about draw a stick man, my other two don't have an artistic streak either but I'd love them to be able to draw. Playing pictionary in our house is interesting.....Grin

MardleBum · 04/05/2016 11:34

I'd say for 6 that's very good. He/She's obviously been asked to do a direct copy or draw something in the style of Picasso, yes? I think it's probably easier to do that when you are six than it is to create something original and fantastic, and if you are going to copy an artist's style then modern abstract stuff is easier than most other genres, but I still think it's great for a 6 year old.

Hurryup2016 · 04/05/2016 11:34

Don't know is she has copied Picasso but they have been learning about various artists and studying their work

Whilst we're sharing, I give you Princess Anna after Christoff left her and she started comfort eating Grin
DD was 4 when she did this one.

I am very arty but my son hates drawing. Will avoid it at any cost. I live in the hope he will suddenly do a masterpiece like U2's son, but its unlikely. :(

MardleBum · 04/05/2016 11:35

That's obviously conceptual performance art Dixie Grin

splendide · 04/05/2016 11:36

The artist is clearly very pleased with his work there Dixie!

I don't have a creative bone in my body but DH is a professional artist so it'll be interesting to see who DS takes after.

hmcAsWas · 04/05/2016 11:37

Very good for 6 years old

TheToys · 04/05/2016 11:37

Good for six! My son is the same age. He was made to copy copied Starry Night at school badly.

Hurryup2016 · 04/05/2016 11:38

She has drawn pictures that I thought were really good before but just wondered if that is just because she is my daughter and I'd naturally be proud of her drawings whatever the standard. Thing is, she thinks she is rubbish at drawing. I keep telling her otherwise.

mardlebum - unfortunately my son was trying to draw Peppa Pig characters therefore he clearly failed miserably Grin

I will go back and see if I can see a naked bound woman...

I promise he's never seen me in that position Grin Grin

dixienormas - where did you get that Peppa pig t-shirt from?

My son loves Peppa Pig but I can never find any boys clothes!!

Writerwannabe83 · 04/05/2016 11:42

mardlebum - I see the naked kneeling bound woman!!

That's creeped me out a bit now...

Toddzoid · 04/05/2016 11:42

that's impressive for a six year old. My 6 yo DS was doing Picasso last term and came home very proudly clutching onto his version of starry night. It was not to that calibre Grin.

As an aside I am envious of people with a natural creative talent. Drawing, writing, poetry, singing, dancing etc. I wish I had something to escape into. I can act but it's not as if I can just break into Midsummers night dream whenever I feel sad Grin.

u2 that is brilliant, I really love it.

MardleBum · 04/05/2016 11:43

she looks a bit like Marge Simpson Confused

Buddahbelly · 04/05/2016 11:44

Well as we are all sharing our little darling artists work, here's my 3 yr old efforts.

It shows the expression of anger at being given fish fingers for tea rather than the kinder egg he demanded!
