Why is everyone reading the Daily Mail? It's a gigantic pile of turd.

BuggertheTabloids · 27/04/2016 21:50

Laughing out loud at this thread! And I have taken your advice as you can see Grin

WhatTheActualFugg · 27/04/2016 21:51

I have had a shitty day and this has right cheered me up. Grin

DH is very upset that I'm giggling to myself instead of listening to the very serious conversation he's trying to have with me.

although if eatsshitsandleaves is who I think it might be then MN as I know it is over

Justanotherlurker · 27/04/2016 21:51

I think there is an important lesson in online privacy in there but it's not just the daily mail trawling through sites /socail media to report on, and it's not just mumsnet that is used.

However I do think there is some kind of confirmation bias and an almost self importance going on with the constant "I name change weekly" meme.

Unfortunetly the media reports on social trends, and although the mail is the most guilty for picking apart threads of certain sites, it's by far not the only one there are many more culprits out there, but it's quite ironic that a majority of links and topics here are started because someone has seen a share or read some trash piece in buzz feed et al.

shazzarooney99 · 27/04/2016 21:53

This thread has actually made me think, it brightened my evening, so i think im going to start another thread where we can have a good crack!

ShitragJournalistScum · 27/04/2016 21:54

Dear Mums,

I am looking for people to take part in an interview.
You will have to show me your nickers, the dirtier the better.
The interview isn't really important cause I'll twist everything you say anyway and make you look like a racist bigot that hate poor people.

I can't say which shit rag it'll be in but I can give you a clue.
If you got post every day you could say you get D++++ M+++.

dailyfailureismyname · 27/04/2016 21:54

I commented on a thread about a Z listed celeb and I was horrified to see a screenshot of it on her FB asking people if they knew who I was. So many people had said things about her but for some reason she took real offence at what I had said (which i didn't think was that bad!) and her "fans" went a bit mental, calling me all the names of the day, that my kids were being abused Hmm etc.

Z sleb then said that she knew someone who works for MN and they were "looking into it" (ie going to reveal who I was). I don't think that happened but it did really make me realize that you shouldn't say something online that you wouldn't say to their face. There are loads of threads I thought about starting but didn't because once it is out there it is hard to take back. I am now a prolific name changer.

katemiddletonsnudeheels · 27/04/2016 21:55

I am DYING to know which celeb it was! Grin

DailyMailJournosAreSick · 27/04/2016 21:56

There's another "Women are posting cringey open letters to their partner's exes online"

I think the thread title was is this the worst Facebook post ever or something like that

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 27/04/2016 21:59

Fuck me op - thanks I did not realise this - warned Sad

MailonlineEffOff · 27/04/2016 21:59

Is it the thread about police at the Z lister house?

MarthaCuntyMcCuntFace · 27/04/2016 21:59

she can't reveal Zeleb. They probably have google set up to pick up their name in all new content.

shazzarooney99 · 27/04/2016 22:00

Come on guys, funny jokes and stories, even cuntyface can come

dailyfailureismyname · 27/04/2016 22:00

kate I was going to start a thread about it at the time but knew everyone would want to know who it was! I felt really bad about it at the time and considered sending her a message apologizing, but I have inwardly repented and am now reformed Smile

TooLazyToWriteMyOwnFuckinPiece · 27/04/2016 22:01

Hey when is the next mumsnet meet up? We could bring Martha along to one... She wouldn't have to come up with a story of her own for years.

ouryve · 27/04/2016 22:06

Are you quite all right, shazza? You seem a little jiggly and detached.

shazzarooney99 · 27/04/2016 22:07

ouryve im perfectly fine, are you?

MarthaCliffYouCunt · 27/04/2016 22:08

Yes and all the martha named MNers could wear martha masks! Or just paint their faces to look like an arse- same result Grin

shazzarooney99 · 27/04/2016 22:08

TooLazyToWriteMyOwnFuckinPiece lmao

WhatTheActualFugg · 27/04/2016 22:08

Where the bloody hell is the 'forgotten password' button? ffs

I want to change my name to CuntOfftoCuntetyCuntsvilleYouCuntyDailyFuckFailJournos

MarthaCliffTheCunt · 27/04/2016 22:10

Just so we are really, really clear Marth Cliff you are a vile, horrible cunt Angry

TooLazyToWriteMyOwnFuckinPiece · 27/04/2016 22:12

Obviously I can name change and will do so more often in future, but it pisses me off that I have to do so. It's like advice to vary your route home to avoid attackers! I love coming on a thread and seeing a few familiar names and (very, very) occasionally be recognised by someone I've talked to on another thread.
These fuckwits take that away and mumsnet is the worse for it.
anyone for another mouldies?
