They really hate women, don't they.

cuntymailjournos · 27/04/2016 20:16

Took me for ages, had to ask for a password set and then it wouldn't accept it, but here now.
All for a good cause.
They are so wrong on so many levels. It's bad enough stealing stories especially emotional ones, but have they really no news to write about? Do people get paid to supposedly research?

So sorry for those who have been used in this way. Thanks

cuntymailjournos · 27/04/2016 20:19

The wheels on the bus was newsworthy then. Grin

shonasybarbaric · 27/04/2016 20:23

I used to write pieces for a few mags - in-flight mags, local mags, Big Issue etc, but the expectations was that an article would involve a) a subject matter, b) research, c) interviewing relevant people and d) any info taken from other sources was referenced. No editor I submitted stuff to would have published a series of screenshots/cut and paste jobs. It's not journalism in any shape or form.

NaffOffMartha · 27/04/2016 20:34

Yy Shona (it feels weird calling you that!)

I've also done a smallish amount of 'serious' journalism for quality publications and if I'd submitted anything along those lines I would have been looked at like HmmConfused

cuntymailjournos · 27/04/2016 20:34

shona

I bet this really riles you, it would me if I'd worked in the industry in a professional ethical way and then seen this.

littleshirleybeans · 27/04/2016 20:38

That's scary. I try to be very careful what I post as a previous post regarding location made it very clear that there are a lot of mn'ers near me. I'm careful anyway.
Think I'll go back to lurking.
proud of my username and don't want to change it though I do like a good curse

YellowTulips · 27/04/2016 20:43

As per a PP the best way to combat is with a new user name "FuckTheDailyMailYellowTuilips" and peppering your posts with swear words.

shazzarooney99 · 27/04/2016 20:44

I really dont think we need any more posts about this

PaulDacresMicroPenis · 27/04/2016 20:45

FFS I just namechanged to post on the BBQ thread and MNHQ have pulled it, any other threads looking likely to end up on the DM website tomorrow?
Grin

FuckTheDailyMailYellowTulips · 27/04/2016 20:46

Why Shazz?

Why is it not appropriate to discuss iyho?

Dailymailbastards · 27/04/2016 20:47

I know it's childish, but I don't care.

Baconyum · 27/04/2016 20:48

Can anyone explain to me why MNHQ don't do a Ltd copyright as other chat boards do? I'm on several that discuss sensitive posts and theirs has some legal 'stuff' on that basically means their posts can't be used in the press without permission from the sites and the sites would contact the posters first.

pratiaalba · 27/04/2016 20:48

Even Lucy Mangan's column in the Telegraph today was a precise of this week's AIBU Hmm

I thought she was above that tbh.

MrsJorahMormont · 27/04/2016 20:49

Wouldn't you feel like a right cunt working for the Daily Mail? I often wonder if their 'journalists' tell lies about what they do when they're at parties, rather than admit they work for such a stinking cess pool.

Guest: 'So what do you do?'
DM Journo: 'Eh... I work in an abattoir.'

Guest: 'So what do you do?'
DM Journo: 'Eh... I was Saddam Hussain's PA. Great guy. Really misunderstood.'

Guest: 'So what do you do?'
DM Journo: 'Eh... I'm one of those fish. You know, the ones that eat the skin off people's feet. Real bottom feeder me. Actually, that last bit's true.'

Etc. etc.

NaffOffMartha · 27/04/2016 20:49

Yes why shazz? Should we only be discussing things the DM might want to make money from?

MarthaCliffYouCunt · 27/04/2016 20:51

Eh... I'm one of those fish. You know, the ones that eat the skin off people's feet

Grin Grin Grin

shonasybarbaric · 27/04/2016 20:55

Cunty, yes it is maddening. I'm not even a trained journalist, I just love writing, and even at the lowish level I was at, wouldn't have dreamed of stooping so bloody low and trading off someone's grief without them even being aware.

Naffoff - I'd have been told my piece was unusable, if I'd sent this latest Mail shite, to any editor I knew. It's stressful to work to deadlines sometimes. You have x number of words to write and you're in a rush and just want the thing out the way, so you can get on with something else, but it's just not on to resort to such unethical practices.

DailyFailAreABunchOfCunts · 27/04/2016 20:58

Jorah - that's genuinely made me smile.

On a serious note about journalistic standards Flat Earth News by Nick Davies, is an interesting read about distortion and untruths in the media.

shazzarooney99 · 27/04/2016 21:01

because NaffOffMartha there have been enough posts on the subject/

NaffOffMartha · 27/04/2016 21:03

OK boss!

NaffOffMartha · 27/04/2016 21:04

Am I allowed to comment on other topics or should I just sign off for the day? You're in charge!

Cutecat78 · 27/04/2016 21:04

Should we remind those currently on the "poo" thread?

Grin
peacheshoney · 27/04/2016 21:07

What? the internet is not private??

Thanks for that, Captain Obvious!

EatsShitAndLeaves · 27/04/2016 21:11

All Hail Queen Shazz

MN quantifier of appropriate number of threads/posts on any given subject Hmm
