The poster's thread has had far more exposure because of the MN outraged than because it has been reproduced in the Daily Mail.

We don't know that the poster wasn't aware that her thread Had been turned into an article. but we do know that her pictures etc were on MN because MN'ers, not DM journalists, encouraged her to share them.

There has been some suggestion that the thread in question may actually have been started by a journalist anyway....

Well... I'm no expert on these things, but I'd be interested to see how much the site visits for Mumsnet increase as a result of these types of articles. After all, MN is a business, and their revenue must depend on the large number of people visiting the site. That's what the advertisers need to see.
